CeramicChef
Dennis - I don't have a clue. I've seen people use weed burners, which are long and point down, but as for that specific unit, I have no idea.

tony b
I didn't get mine from BBQ Guru, but it looks just like it. Mine came from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008ZA0F/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=
CeramicChef
@bgrant and @ tony - those are exactly the units I've seen. Are they that much better than my MAPP torch? I'll try anything once, twice if I like it!
DaveyR
The one i use is http://www.amazon.com/Red-Dragon-VT-1-32-Propane/dp/B002LH46M8 Good thing and bad thing about it is that it dosnt use the pizo electric starter. Just the good old flint starter from a welding kit or a cigarette lighter. Just light and stick in the coal and ignore for a few seconds. When connected to a new tank of gas dont open the valve up very far as the pressure will blow the flame out. (About 1/4 of a turn is all that is needed)
tony b
Just got mine (peer pressure from this site to abandon the chimney that I've used forever!) So, I don't have a lot of experience with it yet. Still learning. I'm using propane right now, as my closest hardware store was out of MAPP when I went in to buy it and was too lazy to travel looking for it. Next canister will be MAPP for comparison.
