Recommended Posts

So, my KK is due in tomorrow and I can't remember what I read, are the cookers (tile grout) sealed at the factory or should I plan on that when it lands?:smt017

Should I wait till after the 'break-in' :smt046 (that's a (k) joke)

hah! no break in is right! no tiles poppin' off! course all this "sealant" stuff would be unnecessary if you went textured!

RAH! BLACK TEXTURED OTB RULES! :D

but the tiled job are ok too...

I'm not sure how long it's been but it's safe to say anything shipped this summer was pre-sealed..

I'm sending out a container tomorrow and all those cookers are not only pre-sealed but come with a small bottle of sealer good for a couple of years...

Dennis,

Have you given any thought to the alternative grout products that do not require sealants? There are several, but I was intrigued by the flexible (and impermeable) ones that were designed for areas with heated floors.

When my cooker (alleged to have been produced in indonesia by a 70+ year old fugutive who has since fled to Mexico) finally drops all of its loose tiles, I think I might give this stuff a try. It cant hurt, since its designed for areas with some degree of expansion.
