Tyrus Posted December 14, 2017 Report Posted December 14, 2017 The Purple crack mix with the brown sugar base Fat Bastard rub was inconclusive. I used 5 peppercorns crushed finely and blended it into the rub and applied. I feel it does well in a sugar base, sweet heat. The next time I will add more to enhance the pepper flavor but, they do pair well together, it's a matter of proportion. On the left side the Purple crack blend was applied and to the right a killer hog rub was on. The ribs didn't pull back as much as I wished but, time wasn't on my side tonite. They were good, no complaints. So don't be dissuaded by the first impression, hey, sometime your best friends might have been ones that didn't meet expectations at first but, they're still around. 1
