This leaves lots of remaining charcoal for the next cook. I don't think it really saves anything.. The amount consumed over the time of the cook at a given temp and air flow is probably independent of the charcoal load. For what its worth Rory Quote
Fetzervalve Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 The one time I did use it (mistakenly on my first cook) it cost a few hours sleep as the lump outside the basket didn't completely light and I had some low temp alarms AARRG. Quote
