  3. Welcome to the wonderful experience of owning a KK! Get ready to enjoy creating exceptional meals on a cooker that has to be seen and used to fully appreciate! We live in Victoria BC and I look forward to following your cooking experiences and hope to visit your restaurant on one of our visits to Vancouver. Elaine
  4. Again, I can't thank everyone for all the info! Looking forward to really getting into some great cooks and of course, posting photos in return for all the help I've gotten from the forum.

  6. Tnx to both of you for the prompt reply! We have a 23 and have been using it but still some questions. Anyone ever available to have a chat by phone?
  7. Hi all, My husband is now starting to get interested in the amazing KK that has been sitting in our yard for the last year. Yahoo! We have been using it and enjoying the process of grilling as well as the delicious finished product. Just wondering what the best position the top and bottom vents should be in to reach high temps as fast as possible? Should the top be all the way open? Any hints much appreciated?
  8. Sounds like a great breakfast to me..... Tnx for the info
  9. Appreciate the great recipe and photos. If cooking from frozen what would the cooking time be? Can't wait to wow my friends with this one!
  10. Once again, I must thank all of you for the great info! I look forward to many years of cooking on my KK and hope I can be of help to new owners in the future.
  11. After getting my KK up to the desired temp I find when I lift the lid to put food on.... turn food over......,,The heat falls far and fast. Am I not heat soaking it long enough or is that something that is unavoidable? I am really enjoying the learning process but always appreciate any advise from the forum.
  12. As always, I very much appreciate the great advice!
  13. Have been loving this forum for all the great information and inspiration! Just received my coconut charcoal from Amazon and wondering what is the best method to light it? It is larger than what I have been using and should I use it the size it is? Mix it with smaller lump? Do you recommend a torch to get it going faster? Appreciate all advice!

    Leg of lamb

Made a rack of lamb for my first cook today and the whole process was wonderful! It was fun to learn and do the cook and the end product was as delicious as I've had in any fine restaurant . Now, I am really excited to keep trying new cooks and enjoying endless possibilities on my new KK! Can't say enough about how happy I am with the entire experience..... Dennis is a first class guy, the grill is so functional and visually pleasing, this forum is a wealth of knowledge and a host of helpful people..... LOVING IT ALL !!!!'mm

    Leg of lamb

Thinking of attempting a leg of lamb this weekend...... And yes I will post pictures! Should I have the butcher butterfly it? Any suggestions for temp, time..... You are all intimidating me with all the fantastic feasts I see coming off your grills but I'm determined to jump in and give it my best.
  16. So appreciate all your helpful advice! Unfortunately , I have house guests coming today and a busy week planned with them so no time to play with my grill but the minute I get them out the door the fun begins!
  17. Thanx Robert. I will ask Dennis for the high temp instructions and will follow them. Is this the same process as you refer to as venting the grill? I will get a torch and forget the cubes as I do not want any chemical odour. Is a brisket considered a lo slo cook? I take it there is no simple manual for the grill but rather trial and error. Would like to understand the basic types of cooks and what is involved in each? Does the BGE or any other grill have a manual that would be helpful to a KK Appreciate the patience and encouragement I hope I will find on this forum! Elaine
  18. Ok so the next steps are Put all the stuff in the grill in the right place and figure out how to use it? Do I do a high burn before my initial cook? I want to do either a brisket or beef ribs for my first cook? Maybe? I wifi not have my Amazon CoCo for about a week should I get some flavoured wood as well as the charcoals? Should I get some briquette starters? If you are rolling you eyes and thinking I know nothing about this ...,.., you are right! But I'm determined to learn.... Baby steps!
