  20. Got this back today sounds like they are doing it tuff. Hi Chris, We would love to help you but unfortunately once again we have nothing left in stock and there wouldn't normally be anything else available until the April/June harvest season this year (2019). However, that isn't looking very promising either as we have once again experienced another extraordinarily hot and dry Winter/Spring/Summer. As you are probably aware, many parts of Tasmania had been on fire for six weeks recently - even in World Heritage Areas which normally don't ever see fire. We can't understand why the State and Federal Governments didn't bring in the large water bombing aircraft, or why they didn't do so right at the beginning instead of letting it all get completely out of control. If you wish, we will let you know how things are progressing closer to harvest time this year, but it doesn't look very promising. It was also another exceptionally dry Winter/Spring/Summer in 2017 which caused most Pepper Berry trees to either not flower or drop their fruit last season (2018). The Currawongs also came down from the higher mountains 2-3 months earlier than normal because there were no Berries up there for them to eat either, and got whatever was left on our trees. This year will make it the third failed crop with no income for us in the last four years, which have all been the hottest and driest years on record. There is a statewide shortage of Pepper Berries. If you manage to find some they will be at least two years old. They may still have some of the fiery flavour but they will have very little if any nutrient left. Climate Change is a reality and it is here now. Only politicians and corporations seem incapable of recognising Climate Change and unwilling to do anything about it. We have also experienced an incursion of Fruit Fly into Tasmania last year. Until now, even if they arrived here with holiday makers in the past (which I am sure they have), it has been too cold for them to survive. That has also changed. We are terribly sorry for any inconvenience. Cheers, Sally. pepperberry.net.au Outback Kamado Bar and Grill
