    Rib Roast pic

Re: Rib Roast pic Let me clarify.... I have never felt the need or desire to clean a grill before. I was content to scrape them, and burn them off. BUT, the shiny robust stainless nature of my new grill got to me and I started cleaning it. It then dawned on me that I would never think of cooking on a caked on burnt mess anywhere else. Step in Dennis, who advised me of the water heater drain pan trick, and now i can keep them shiny clean with a quick soak and scrub. I am a radiation oncologist, and we do anal retentive really well. A good thing I would say!

    Rib Roast pic

Re: Rib Roast pic It is nearly new! AND, Dennis (knowing I am a typical anal physician) told me about getting a water heater drain pan, so I can wash my grates outside. I never used to wash my grates on my old grill, but these are so shiny! Also, when do you cook on a dirty surface inside your house?

    Rib Roast pic

A tasty mistake... My grill temp got away from me (300 instead of 250) and I took it of at 126 instead of 118. I still reverse seared it tho....
  6. Re: kk tool accessories http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000SS ... 00_details these work well....
  7. Re: Best vacuum packer? (FoodSaver alternatives?) After much consideration I bought a chamber sealer last week. I wanted to freeze soups and stews.... I bought the Vacmaster VP112, an almost commercial device. It is nice, though large and heavy. i think i made the right decision for my uses. I paid 670 delivered but have since found it for 600 on Black Friday...oh well why did I look? I made 3 vats of soup this weekend, and it worked great. Turkey/stuffing...Split pea...and beef vegetable. Since water boils at room temperature at low pressure, you dial back the suction to just when it starts to boil, then seal.
  8. Re: Waxed for the Winter I apologize if the title of the picture of my first pork butt thread offended anyone.....

    Pic of my Butt

9 pound boneless. 12 hours at 230 to a temp of 170 then 4.5 hours at 250 to 195... It is wrapped in a cooler waiting until dinner for pulling
  10. Re: Daughters third bday today They were probably about that heavy.... It is built like a tank. I really enjoy cooking on this thing! I opened it once in 4.5 hours to check on the rack accross the top, it was fine. This weekend I am going to cook a pork butt. I can't wait.
  11. Re: Daughters third bday today Somewhere I have pics of the 15 wild children whose parents ate this food...they had spaghetti! The chickens were cooked after the ribs....350 for a coupla hours
  12. Ribs and chickens.... By the time the chickens came off I forgot the pics....fortunately there were leftovers to prove it happened.
  13. Re: Thanks Dennis!....and I can't wait What is it with kids and these grills.... I got home from work, rolled it into the backyard and my boy insisted on posing in it! I love the Glass Green even better in person!
  14. Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! I have only seen the pic, but I was told it was a litter of shih tzu..... My little girl Ibiza looks like a Saint Bernard with the right haircut, or like a English Sheep Dog with a different cut. As long as you don't have anything near her for perspective. She weighs eight pounds. It is unusual for Shih Tzu to have more than 2-3 pups. The mother only weighs 9 pounds!
  15. Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! One of my dogs, Monte (full name Little Brunello di Montalcino), a brown andwhite Beagle with a liver nose died last week. He was a good boy.... My friends are already coaxing me to replace him. We also have a Shih Tzu. Ibiza is like our 4th child. here is the temptation..... a litter!
  16. Re: Damn you, Dennis.... Life is like a box of charcoal.....
  17. Re: Anxiously awaiting my new kk I am with you, my KK is on the water (or maybe docking in Cali).... I can't wait! Post pics so I can drool some more!
  18. Re: Thanks Dennis!....and I can't wait It's true, It's true..... We then had a family Pow Wow on the color...we let the kids decide as has been recommended. They chose Glass Green, which I think will look great in my backyard. (and yes I let my 3 year old daughter and 5 year old son run my life)
  19. Re: Thanks Dennis!....and I can't wait My son of 5 will only allow one option for numero uno...RIBS. I (b)raised him right.... Hope to cook Thanksgiving on her!
  20. My KK is ordered and on the water. I really can't wait, and appreciate all the great info the forum members share here. Every time I read the recipe section I get hungry and start drooling.... Martin in Miami Beach
