  1. Re: Turkey Hash Time Again!

There was a seafood place in Hampton we'd hit for special occasions, if someone had a car. I think it was near the Hampton Coliseum. That said, you're talkin' ::cough cough:: years ago! (Hint: I was in a class at W&M when Hinckley attempted to assassinate Reagan.)

  2. Re: Turkey Hash Time Again!

You do know that I am a tidewater boy' date=' right? I am from Newport News, VA. I was born on a flood tide, and was eating blue crab long before I knew what to call it! Man, I wish I could come over for tomorrow's crab boil! Eat a few swamp dawg Jimmies for me Cook_Shack. Anton[/quote']

Oooh, Pastor! I spent 4 years in Williamsburg. Nuthin as good as a blue crab feast on a newspaper-covered picnic table, and a bit of beverage of one's choice (I'm not a beer drinker, so it was Pepsi or sweet tea for me!).

And don't even START about Pierce's Pit BBQ, on the way outa town. :)

  3. Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house!

Of COURSE "Alice" is adorable!! The name alone is your clue. Good job, Dennis.

I Googled and clicked into to a female dog naming site..

The second name was Alice and the two kids screamed ALICE!

I thought this was too easy..

    Alice it was...

    ;);)

    What did we do pre-Google?

    ;)

Well, my pre-Google parents resorted to the old fashioned trick of naming me for my Grandma, Alice. :smt052

But it's obvious that Google helped you get the right answer.

Puppy feet should touch the floor as infrequently as possible, in my opinion. And they should all have lipstick kisses on the tops of their heads. :happy8:

The first photo below is Annie, my new bunnyhead. About 7 years old, a rescue from a Florida (kill) shelter. The lower photo is my late love, Livvy. She died at age 16, in July. Very sad.

  5. Re: High temp fast brisket

My cooked brisket had the texture of a pot roast. Very tender and moist and everyone liked it' date=' but I was surprised at the texture. I cooked it at 320 until it reached an internal temp of 165, (3 hrs) then foiled it until it was tender,(2.5 hrs) and let it rest in a towel for an hour. Did I do something wrong?[/quote']

Bohunk, if it tasted good, and you liked it, then you did nothing wrong! :happy8:

  6. Re: New owner--First time start up

Just received my 19.5 OTB KK. It's a beauty! To ensure the best first - time start up experience, is their a user guide or a handy step-by-step resource I can consult?

    Advice welcome

    Ed

Buckle up and enjoy the ride, Ed. :happy8:

And maybe order pants and belt a size larger, just in case. It's been known to happen, after all.

  7. Re: Pepper Mill

And by the way' date=' to clean out the grinder, my Polish butcher told me to use sugar in the grinder to clean it out, I poured in about a cup and turned the grinder on.Y'know, it worked pretty good! Now I'm wondering how my next pot of coffee is gonna taste![/quote']

You can also use dry rice. Give it a whirl, and it'll clean out a grinder, too. :happy8:
