PaulR Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 I am being serious... I emigrated from Amsterdam to Sydney (so I sorta know what snow is...) PS Aussie Blue agrees with me that although he can withstand cold weather he'd rather not
Sanny Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 Sanny honey' date=' you know when we see minus 20 temperatures here in So Cal? When we look at that photo you posted. [/quote'] That photo is an aberration, Prof! I was with Snooky at a job interview in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Went into Yellowstone for the day. brrrr. Even the bison were cold.
primeats Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 Fetz, waive to me as you fly past Cost Rica!
Fetzervalve Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 Fetz' date=' waive to me as you fly past Cost Rica![/quote']Meats, I'm not locked in there, do you need a neighbor? I'm flexible, within a few degrees of latitude.
primeats Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 Still in the planning stage, such as " hey honey what do you think about this?"
steve Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 I spatchcocked a chicken last night in the snow and 18 degrees. This is my first winter using the KK, and it hasn't skipped a beat. I've cooked in below zero weather, no problems. (BTW, Madison set it's all time snow record for the season this year! )
primeats Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Looks great! Gotta post more pics myself! Not much warmer down here! Did you make gravy with the drippings? Couldn't help but notice( in true cheese head fashion) the absence of anything green. just kidding
Sanny Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Couldn't help but notice( in true cheese head fashion) the absence of anything green. Green frequently indicates spoilage. This is especially the case in those months (and climates) in which there is no greenness in the outdoors. Unhealthy to eat green things in months containing an "R." Just like oysters.
primeats Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Looks as though you have some gasket leakage in the second pic. Have you tried to adjust the top?
primeats Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Thought you could only get oysters in the months with an "R"
Sanny Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Thought you could only get oysters in the months with an "R" Yah - I mean, eat oysters in those months when you shouldn't eat green stuff.
johnnyboy Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Fetzer, I'm playing catch-up here. Finally got me Verizon wireless broadband for my home laptop; now bringing it to work to access the forum. Even though I could never access KK forum on work equipment; I never liked consenting to monitoring either. Now I'm killing both birds with one stone. Anyway, Fetzer, you must have missed this storm?? Now here's a pretty good coating of ice in Iowa! I see why you're not having tile problems; you have great protection. I covered my K too late in life, and as most know have had tile issues. Check out the exposed aggrigate concrete; solid coating of ice!

We haven't missed many! I'll take the snow, it usually doesn't make the power go out!
primeats Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Johnnyboy, not going to show us your new model?

Was quite happy with the little used generator I bought for $75 at a garage sale just a month prior. And thank goodness gas fireplaces still work without power.
