I understand what you are saying about that but then I look at the plate as a whole and figure what I would spend at a decent steak restaurant. The cost then doesn't seem so high and you're eating a better meal. Edited February 25, 2017 by ckreef

tomahawk66
Awesome steaks - perfectly done which is no mean feat the first time you do steaks on any new cooker/technique. You did the first bit indirect I assume? How hot / which grate did you do the hot sear on?Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Aussie Ora
They turned out great as for cost it will be way cheaper for those size cuts to cook at home compared to a restaurant where they will charge for a smaller size cut if I can get two nice sized steaks for $30 I'm happy not every night but beats take awayOutback Kamado Bar and Grill

I flipped the steak halfway through. It's hard to get an exact temp for the sear but I had the vent wide open while I took the main grate out and patted the steaks dry. It was on the lower grate with high heat (I closed the vent a little so it wasn't too wild).
tomahawk66
Yeah, I've found the main grate to be perfect for grilling as I can't be bothered to wait for the fire to die down!Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
