  2. Hello! Just saw myself tagged over at AmazingRibs, but not sure if there was a question. You're in good hands here. These are the real pros. I'm a hack. 😏

  3. I just ordered the left and right SS sides for new 32. Teak is tough to keep bright in Florida. SS should be easier to keep. Both styles are a work of art

  4. Yep- if I'm wanting a reverse sear, I utilise the half moon grate and leave the splitter in for a 50:50 split (I have a 32BB). If I'm having a very long low and slow I use a full basket just in case, and use a drip tray under to make things indirect. If I'm using the Roti I'm taking the splitter out and arranging the coals in a line across the basket, leaving the front half of the basket empty. So in effect I'm rarely using foil as I'm either having a 50:50 split with a cool side, or cooking indirect with a drip tray under!

  5. Finally got around to face loft on KK. I was able to get it over to my house and started prepping the tiles. I had to replace some on stack that I didnt do when rebuilding the grill (see hammered KK thread). Sanded whole thing down with 80 grit to give some texture for paint to stick to. Taped off all SS and sprayed with hvlp. Paint used is charcoal metallic high heat from KBS coatings. Ill hit it with a high heat clear as well tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. After the multi-week below freezing period last month, we have been rewarded with several days in a row of high 50°s - low 60°sF temperatures. I waited a week for yesterday's unseasonably warm weather to unwrap the wood oven to make pizza. A couple of 14" New York style pizzas, one artichoke, mushroom, and goat cheese; the other pepperoni, mushroom, and black olive. Today's job is to clean and re-cover the oven and store the associated paraphernalia for a few more weeks until Spring. Oh well, the pizze were good!

  9. I believe I have more tile choices today at one time than I've ever had and because we now sort for uniformity most tiles have 3-4 different versions. Tile colors go in and out of fashion, basically what colors designers are using in bathrooms, kitchens and pool areas. I can use most 25 or 28mm glazed ceramic tiles.. no glass tiles. For 18 months, all grills have been built to order, the tweed patterns do not take longer or cost more than the tile version used. We still do the odd ball tiles from time to time... Did these three in the last 6 months or so..
