Well, there is a little bit of posting praise on the other forums sometimes. Primo used to have sorry customer service. Sounds like they took care of it by hiring a guy to take care of it. So there used to be some back and forth on the BGE and Primo forums about customer service. And of course, now and then folks just like to share the joy of getting good service. Just FWIW....

The soil in the southeast (at least in NC) is clay which is acidic. Add pine needles to that, and you get more acid. So, we typically spread lime on the lawns on a regular basis. Except us lazy people who marvel at the lawn's ability to resemble something green despite the weeds, the holes, the brown spots.
-
Just remember that ashes are alkaline so keep them away from acid-loving plants like azaleas, rhodo's, camelias.

Hey!! What's going on the grill this weekend, ya'll???

ABT's -- See my glossary of terms (cheap opportunity to plug my site....) ABT definition -
I think that the last place the average person new to KK would look is in the forum, though. I think they'd go to the webpage and look there for something.

Jeez, Dennis, we are so spoiled. 14-16K eh? I can still remember (I just threw out) my 300baud modem. Baud, not bps! Back then 16K would have been lickety split!! Maybe you should post your "office hours" somewhere on your webpage vs. a thread in this forum. I think anyone who wanted to contact you would first look for the "contact" link on your home page.

Did he pull his pork (no jokes, please) or did he slice it, or what?

Mike, so where are you? Did you realize that you are now within spitting distance of the world famous Naked Whiz? (Not that you need to spit to prove it or anything.....) We're in North Raleigh.

Hmmm, works for me.....

Aw come on, what's a few dozen screwed up posts between friends? LOL You need to get the address of the photo itself. Kodak's website may not allow you to post your photos on other websites. However, it dang sure won't let you do what you are doing. When I click on the links, it wants me to enter a user ID and password. You might try using a service like Photobucket. They will let you do what you want. There are instructions on using them on my website at: How To Post A Photo

What? WHAT???!! Verbose??? No way man. I'm like half German and half English. No Verbose in me!!!

well, it might have been more interesting if Curly had stated why he was selling it. Otherwise, I guess it looks pretty innocent. Woop woop woop!

Gerard, Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of a recent episode of myth busters where they pressurized an old DC-9 to +8psi and were blowing out windows. Then they shot a bullet through windows and the skin, then placed a shaped charge on the side of the plane. Seriously, I guess I would have a hard time proving that I had maintained my objectivity when presented with a very expensive item to test. I tend to walk around with my mouth open saying "wow" a lot. Even if I were to do a review of my eggs, I'm not sure I'd know what all to test and how to do it. Big job, that....

Re: TNW you have out done yourself.. Thanks! If only I had a KK to review, haw haw haw!!!

Drunk... I've never really understood what the offset was for or the other thing. On the Stoker, you can set your own hi and lo limits for alarms on the pit. Is that what you meant?

We just posted the review. We hope you find it helpful! Just click on the link in the "What's New" box or follow the link to the Product Reviews page: The Naked Whiz's Web Site

...and if a 52 yo is allowed to rock!

Ok, if you compare a Competitor and Stoker, the Competitor package is about $220, while the Stoker is about $235. (I think you need to order the adapter plate in addition to the Basic Plus system). So, Competitor has a more powerful fan in case you need it, and a simpler user interface. The Stoker has expandability and LAN access. Something the Stoker can do that someone might like is the ability to monitor several pieces of food, if you buy additional food probes. People are always asking which butt to put the probe in when they cook 2 butts. Or a butt and a brisket. Anyway, the review will be up as soon as we get the final review done.
-
The Pit Viper is a fan. Did you mean the Pit Minder? Assuming so, the Pit Minder doesn't monitor food temp, so is that what you want? Otherwise the Competitor is the model that monitors both pit and food. But assuming you mean Pit Minder, the Pit Minder is about $150, while the Stoker Basic is $200. With the Stoker Basic, you would get the lan connection and the ability to add one or more food probes in the future, as well as add more cookers in the future. $50 seems like not much money for the ability to expand in the future. Operationally, the Pit Minder is easier to use (just have a dial to turn, right?) while the Stoker has menus to navigate to set the temperatures, but all that additional flexibility might offset that.

Gerard, Well, it might be a few days longer than I thought. We are waiting on the technical guy to review it, and this guy has the nerve to be getting married!! Can you believe it? So, I'll be posting as soon as I can. I would expect that once I hear, there will only be minor nits to clean up so, a few minutes later, voila!

I'm waiting on Mr. Stoker to return from the weekend to read my rough draft to make sure it is factually accurate. While I maintain editorial control over all my reviews, I do give the product manufacturers an opportunity to correct any factual errors before I publish. I hope to publish it tonight or tomorrow, but we shall just have to see, won't we?

I'm not sure where you are and where it was, but I assume all is well with you and yours? TNW

Gerard, You need a new avatar. How about this:

I rather enjoyed this bit: "I wish you would post your name so I will remember it so I can turn down your order..."

If you visit his site, you should find a link to his contest. You can win one of 3 Stokers, I believe for writing a short essay. Here's the link: Contest For A Free Stoker
