I am reaching out to any/all European Owners, I would like to know your experience on how much - percetange wise - you were charged to import your KK into the EU. The reason I am asking is because I may have to buy another and would like to have an idea how the import duties and VAT were calculated. Hello All, The KK has finally been unpacked and I am now looking to get charcoal. Unfortunately, I am not sure where to start, but am open to recommendation on what and where to buy it.

I was not allowed to film them unload it at destination but they destroyed the crate instead of trying to remove the screws... Thankfully the base and slent are still usable.

IMG_3565.mov Hello All, I am moving my KK with me to Belgium. The movers contracted a crane to lift it off the deck, so I found it worthwhile to record the process. There seem to be an issue uploading the videos, but we’ll start with some photos while I try to sort it out. Due to coordination issues between the movers, seacan delivery company and the crane’s, the KK was first lifted off the deck by the crane to be moved onto the street. Then the crane left and the seacan arrives a couple hours late… Once the seacan arrived, and they tried to pick it off the street and raise it up onto the liftgate of a truck. However, the elavation difference between the truck carrying the seacan and the KK was too large; hence, they took it to the warehouse and ultimately moved it with a forklift. Note that I have kept the large majority of the crate that it originally came with since I expect to move quite often. Whilst the bed may last a few more moves, the top portion will have to be replaced because it sat uncovered in the backyard facing the ever changing weather for a year and a half. If you ever wish to visit Madagascar, my relatives are telling me the price of vanilla dropped significantly over the past year. I always ask them to bring me some (they used to cultivate them) whenever they come visit in Canada. Alternatively, to speed up the process, if you could try with the ANOVA vacuum chamber once you receive it and let us know of the results, that would be great!

Dennis, I also agree that the notched version would be more versatile, but I have another recommendation based on it. This comes from having used the meat hanger and trying to find a solution to be able to hang as many hooks as possible. To render it even more versatile, I think it would be ideal to have the removable notched curved rod perpendicular to the current plane, as in going front to back rather than left to right. With two of those on either sides of the KK, and additional straight (ideally notched as well) rods to be positioned by the user to rest on the two curved ends would allow for one to pretty much hang whatever he/she needs wherever feels best. This comes from me trying to come up with temporary solutions to hang my char siu and trying to get as much vertical space... I will try to draw this out when I find time. In the meantime, I will attach a photo of what I mean by trying to hang as many hooks as possible to maximize use of space.

This was not meant to go on this thread but my phone is acting up. My parents missed the taste of smoked fish from Madagascar, hence I had to try smoking whole Tilapia since it was cheap this week. While not aesthetically pleasing, the taste came out pretty good.

Do not quote me on either of the answers but, my guess is that the little bolt is to adjust the inclination of the table since the surface isn't exactly 90º vertical. You'll notice that your side table will not be level if you tighten the other three bolts and remove the small one. As for the second picture, it is more of a hanger for tools rather than grate because it moves freely. I tried putting a grate on it and had a difficult time getting it off because it would move upward as well... Hope that helps

On a side note, if there are more members living in Quebec on the forum, I am curious if there is any interest in getting a pallet of coco-char to split... Not sure how many there are on a pallet but I am quite curious to test it. Je suis curieux de savoir qui d'autre a un KK aux alentours de Montreal/Brossard. J'y passe pour visiter mes parents lorsque j'ai l'occasion. Et qui sait, peut etre que mon KK va finir la bas si je demenage à l'étranger d'ici quelques années.
