I bought a KK in Feb of this year and recently tipped the old scalearoo at 210 lbs! I am afraid I will have to keep Johnnyboy's cover on the KOoker for a while longer......... Mrs. T is doing fine however she works out daily and will just have to suck it up until I see the numbers 205 on the bathroom scale.... Maybe Dennis should have a "disclaimer" accompany these units. Now that fishing is over and the rainy season is upon us, I thought that perhaps it was time for some comfort food.... which usually includes home baked beans in our household. I fired up the KOoker before lunch and took it to around 300F and put the beans in on the top grill (they had been on for 1 hour with the lid on in this pic) several hours later (note the darkness) Mrs. T Rex was very pleased with how they turned out. I used some apple chunks for smoke and stired them every hour so that the smoke flavor would permeate the beans. Call me nuts but I really like Yorkshire Puddings filled with home made beans so Mrs. T was kind enough to accommodate me...... We had this with home made Tortiere however it was soooooooooo late by the time the beans were done to my satisfaction that we never took any plate shots..... T Rex

Nice bird......... Nice bird, it is also one of my favorite ways to do chicken on the KOoker.. The part that kills me is the skin comes out so nice done this way however, neither Mrs. T Rex or I eat chicken or turkey skin....... T Rex

After market service John, one of the things of note with the KK's is the after market service you will get from Dennis, nothing I have ever seen except with very high end stuff like Rolex, Mercedes, etc............ I bought a couple of rotisserie baskets with varying rod attachments to fit other BBQs as it was only the basket I needed. Dennis sends the proper rods to fit the baskets (which are all the same size) when you receive your KOoker. To make a long story short, I threw out the wrong rods accidentally so I was "hooped" so to speak. I sucked up my embarrassment and sent Dennis an email asking to purchase some replacements so I could do some rotisserie KOoking...... he sent some right away and refused to let me pay him for my stupidity (including shipping costs)....... try that with a POSK! ..........only use mine once............... however, I buy them in six foot lenghts at the lumber yard and they are pretty cheap.... T Rex

Hey Pastor, here is a pic of a piece of Wild Pacific Chinook that I did on a cedar plank..... We do this a lot out here along with many other varities of fish from our local waters. The season is now over and the boat has been put to bed.............. till next March.......... I should mention that while I prefer Cedar, Alder is a very close second! I put a ziploc over my Guru. A yup, we get a lot of rain on the Island and the ziploc works great. You can see what is going on and make adjustments if necessary without taking the Guru out of the bag. T Rex

Sous Vide Magic Hey Syzygies, I kind of wish that you hadn't brought up the Sous Vide Magic gizmo.................... but I like it! Looks like a nice unit to add to the KOoker arsenal. We vacuum freeze a lot of BBQ as Mrs. T and I are not big eaters and this unit seems like it would get good use in our household. Thanks for the info. T Rex
