  1. Re: Omaha Steaks iPad or iPhone STEAK TIME app I know the director of consumer affairs at Omaha Steaks. She told me about that app a couple of weeks ago when we were at a conference.
  2. Re: New to KK forum Baton Rouge! Graduated from LSU and bleed purple and gold. Also wish I had some good crawfish right now while listening to some good jaz. You live where I consider heaven to be my friend.
  3. Re: New to KK forum Yeah, but the Louisiana cuisine will have anything else from Oakland beat! i miss the food from Louisiana, my homeland! I live in Chattanooga now.
  4. Re: What's everyone cooking this weekend (5/19/12)? Hamburgers tonight....crab and lobster stuffed flounder tomorrow night...baby backs yesterday....and a whole chicken the day before....our oven hasn't been in use for a week.
  5. Re: New to KK forum Welcome! Enjoy your KK!
  6. Re: What's everyone cooking this weekend (5/19/12)? Baby backs!
  7. Re: New to the club! Congrats friend and may you have many grilling days!
  8. Re: Lighting Looftlighter And when you're bored, it is great fun to use on ants.
  9. Re: Lighting Looftlighter You should ALWAYS push your button firmly! Lol
  10. Re: Where to See 1 Long Beach, CA I guess his "research" is done.
  11. Re: Lighting Looftlighter I got one recently and I really like it! It is easy to use, quick and holding the switch is very easy as it is a soft switch.
  12. Re: Where to See 1 Long Beach, CA Dennis asked if he could drive to Laguna which isn't that far. I don't think he ever answered. Steve
  13. Re: "Fuel Efficiency" Me too Dennis. I grew up in Whittier and went to Monte Vista High School. We spend every weekend at huntgington beach and from time to time we went to Laguna or Newport. Looks like we both graduated the same year in 78. Whittier used to be a sleepy little town carved out of orange groves. Now 150 miles in every direction is nearly concrete. Steve
  14. Re: "Fuel Efficiency" Boy Laguna Beach brings back memories.....
  15. Re: "Fuel Efficiency" Wow! I went to my local hardware store where they actually had a "Bubba Keg" AKA now known as The Big Steel Keg. If you ARE comparing, you are simply not looking at apples to apples my friend. Since you said you were interested in input here is mine: If you only have $800 and can not afford a KK then yes buy it. You will need to put some money back each year as you will need to replace it at some point. My KK will be here when the Mayans come back around. I strongly suggest you post where you are as someone near you would love to let you see their KK. After you have seen one, re-post here. I wish I could be there for your first view of a KK.
  16. Re: "Fuel Efficiency" Well all you have to do is read all the comments from all the people on here and you will see how we all feel about our KK's. You did not ask for opinions on other cookers. You simply came in and started talking about your cooker....kind of like calling Ford customer service and bragging about how great your Dodge is...so forgive us if we did not understand your actions. While Ford and Dodge ARE similar, there is nothing similar to a KK. The people on this forum are a wealth of info and very friendly. I have been grilling since my father taught me to grill when I was 5 (he was a butcher). I have owned many grills including a Weber, many propane cookers, an Imperial Kamado, two RJ POS Kamados and now a KK. There is nothing you could buy that would compare to the quality, fit and finish of a KK. If you wanted to see a KK, there is probably someone on this forum that lives close to you that would be thrilled to show off their KK. Once you see one you will quickly realize nothing else comes close. Welcome to the forum and if you are serious about looking to buy a KK, you will not regret it!
  17. Re: "Fuel Efficiency" You know at the beginning of a Florida State football game where Chief Osciola throws the flaming spear in the opposing teams end zone??? You wouldn't be trying to do that now would you? I think it is great that you like your cooker but it seems a little like you are trolling for something..........
  18. Re: outdoor kitchen It must push the 1000 pound envelope...lol
  19. Re: Hello From Long Beach,CA The KK has no equal. Simply put. The customer service Dennis provides is second to none. I should know as I am in the customer service business. Buying my KK is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I have owned two RJ Kamados and one Imperial Kamado and have 17 years experience using them. There is no comparison of a KK to any product. Anything standing beside a KK is going to get an inferiority complex real fast. Best grill, best service, coolest owner. Enough said. Oh, one more thing, coolest community forum.
  20. Re: Lighting Looftlighter I had to have one after reading about it in the forum and seeing one on line. I tried mine today and I love it! It lights charcoal in seconds and is safe.
  21. Re: Lighting Looftlighter I saw a picture of one and ordered it that instant. I just came home from a trip and will try it this weekend!
  22. Re: Ribs and Pork Belly Yes I was noticing that too...you left a space in the middle that has no charcoal. Is this to increase airflow and temperature?
  23. Re: Pallet of COCO Charcoal to Chattanooga Area OK...last call ordering in next couple of days............
  24. Re: New Grill - Concord, CA I have the natural brown Johnnyboy cover....awesome!
