CLeeThom
I did a 725*F cleaning burn on a new 32" KK. The inside of the dome had a 'layer' of something that flaked off. Any comments, please.
5698k
No worries, it’s a cosmetic coating used to cover the inner material that’s not very attractive..it’ll soon be black as you continue to cook. Jadeite
Out of interest, why did you go so high? 725 is getting pretty up there
tony b
Yeah, it's normal for that to flake off - no worries. btw - Dennis doesn't recommend high heat cleaning cycles. 725F is pretty high, even for a pizza cook. Just some advice going forward.
CLeeThom
Thank you both. Yes, 750 is too high. The grill got away from me., rarely go over 550F. The material was easily removed with a stiff brush.
