No more distractions 'till y'all have answered my question... -M Fortunately for me (not so much for you) I don't have a K, otherwise this would have been settled looong ago. Who are we waiting for? Sominus
Once I've graduated from chiropractic school and have set up my practice I'll have a KK... For now I have a K.. Honestly, the K does a great job or turning out some great food. There aren't any problems in that regard whatsoever.. -M

Firemonkey
Sominus may need to check on the depth of the newer style basket (as shown). The portion of the basket that hangs down may be in the way of the Kamado "hand crafted" (read: home-built) burner assembly. I dont know the clearance on a K7, but should Sominus be lucky enough to actually get delivery of the burner he paid for... If its an issue, you could probably still get the old style from Dennis. Sominus
I was able to source a used burner from someone, so I'm pretty much all set in that department... But you said something that made me scratch my head: "old style"? Old style what? Burner? Basket? Confused in Houston.

But you said something that made me scratch my head: "old style"? Old style what? Burner? Basket? Confused in Houston. I think he was referring to the basket. The previous basket he made does not have the additional area at the bottom for more charcoal, so it would sit flush with the fire ring instead of going through it. However, I don't think it sticks through enough to worry over. -=Jasen=-

Sominus
Dennis? Did you ever check on this? Dennis: Did you ever check to see if the Mexi-K burner will work with your charcoal basket? Mine's getting ready to give up the ghost... -Michael in Houston
DennisLinkletter
Just a lil' lower.. Please excuse the delay.. Had to dig up a K7 corpse. This is the current basket we make.. as you can see it is just a tad lower than the K7 firebox. I can always make you one even shorter if you like.
