Fetzervalve Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Now now... No more distractions 'till y'all have answered my question... -M Fortunately for me (not so much for you) I don't have a K, otherwise this would have been settled looong ago. Who are we waiting for? CURLY???
Sominus Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 Once I've graduated from chiropractic school and have set up my practice I'll have a KK... For now I have a K.. Honestly, the K does a great job or turning out some great food. There aren't any problems in that regard whatsoever.. -M
DennisLinkletter Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Sure did and sure does.. Did y'all get a chance to see if the basket would fit a #7? Sure did and sure does..
Firemonkey Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Sominus may need to check on the depth of the newer style basket (as shown). The portion of the basket that hangs down may be in the way of the Kamado "hand crafted" (read: home-built) burner assembly. I dont know the clearance on a K7, but should Sominus be lucky enough to actually get delivery of the burner he paid for... If its an issue, you could probably still get the old style from Dennis.
Sominus Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 I was able to source a used burner from someone, so I'm pretty much all set in that department... But you said something that made me scratch my head: "old style"? Old style what? Burner? Basket? Confused in Houston.

But you said something that made me scratch my head: "old style"? Old style what? Burner? Basket? Confused in Houston. I think he was referring to the basket. The previous basket he made does not have the additional area at the bottom for more charcoal, so it would sit flush with the fire ring instead of going through it. However, I don't think it sticks through enough to worry over. -=Jasen=-
Sominus Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 Dennis: Any thoughts on the clearance for the MexiK burner assembly clearance? -M
DennisLinkletter Posted November 8, 2007 Report Posted November 8, 2007 Sorry just saw this.. Dennis: Any thoughts on the clearance for the MexiK burner assembly clearance? -M Sorry just saw this.. I'll drop one in and try to look thru that lil door!
Sominus Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 Dennis? Did you ever check on this? Dennis: Did you ever check to see if the Mexi-K burner will work with your charcoal basket? Mine's getting ready to give up the ghost... -Michael in Houston
DennisLinkletter Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Just a lil' lower.. Please excuse the delay.. Had to dig up a K7 corpse. This is the current basket we make.. as you can see it is just a tad lower than the K7 firebox. I can always make you one even shorter if you like.
jiarby Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 Dennis... I need three of them... two to go in a 22.5" cooker and one in a 26" cooker! PM me for cc info. (or however you wanna get paid) Old K7 parts ok.. they are for the drums we've been chatting about.
