Guru Port Plug Removal

Recommended Posts

Posted

I think I have seen the procedure to properly remove the plug, but now I can't find it. I have ordered a new Stoker, so I want to have the correct process in place when it arrives.

Please steer me to the answer.

Thanks,

plug hole

What"s supposed to go in this hole?

I tapped mine out following the set up instructions, but then found nothing to place in here. Right or am i in trouble?

Um... Guru goes in there. (Not included with cooker)

Now, if you don't have a Guru, you need a plug to put in it, or else you have an unregulated air supply.

The inducer tube goes in there, so that the guru will fit properly. Several other threads are discussing the different types of inducer tubes.

Short ones you fasten in place with high temp silicone or stove cement, there is a longer one with a threaded end that you poke through and spin on a flange on the inside to hold it in place.

I would go with the long one that has a plate to hold it. If you want the shorter one that you silicone in I have one that you can have for postage.

e-mail me or pm if interested. :D

This is the small inducer tube.. The Guru faceplate was designed for it. The hole was CNC (digitally) cut for this tube.

When held up to the hole it will appear to be too large for the hole.

But with a firm tap.. it will slip in.

Sometimes one side will be higher and need to be tapped down.

Once in, it is very solid, tight and does not need any silicon.
