DennisLinkletter Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Alice our new puppy is in the house! She's an apricot Golden Doodle 8 weeks old, full of mischief. Hide everything.. Nothing like a puppy to make a house a home. Isla (as in Island;-) has died and gone to lil girl heaven.. I worry that the dogs legs won't develop because Isla carries her for hours when she coms home from school! Too cute eeh? AliceDoodle.jpg[/attachment:2djb9tz4] Alice.jpg[/attachment:2djb9tz4]

fcnich Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! Lovely puppy Dennis, sadly we lost our Maltese a couple weeks ago, no replacement yet.
Syzygies Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! She's an apricot Golden Doodle Our neighbors (the ones that got handed our off-brand K that shed its tiles, when we got our KK) have a pair of golden doodles. From puppies I befriended them, not wanting any territorial responses through the fence. Now they're escape artists, and whenever they get loose they show up at our door. I've been pretty generous with the BBQ with them over the years, and they don't seem to mind. Lovely dogs. Very doggy. We call them the snickerdoodles.
slu Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! Alice is adorable! Congratulations on the additional family member!
Sanny Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! Of COURSE "Alice" is adorable!! The name alone is your clue. Good job, Dennis. Puppy feet should touch the floor as infrequently as possible, in my opinion. And they should all have lipstick kisses on the tops of their heads. The first photo below is Annie, my new bunnyhead. About 7 years old, a rescue from a Florida (kill) shelter. The lower photo is my late love, Livvy. She died at age 16, in July. Very sad.
DennisLinkletter Posted November 1, 2011 Author Report Posted November 1, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! Lovely puppy Dennis' date=' sadly we lost our Maltese a couple weeks ago, no replacement yet.[/quote'] My most sincere condolences.. Hardest part of having a pet.
DennisLinkletter Posted November 2, 2011 Author Report Posted November 2, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! Of COURSE "Alice" is adorable!! The name alone is your clue. Good job, Dennis. I Googled and clicked into to a female dog naming site.. The second name was Alice and the two kids screamed ALICE! I thought this was too easy.. Alice it was... What did we do pre-Google?
teddysurf Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! What did we do pre-Google? ... buy inferior cookers!

I Googled and clicked into to a female dog naming site.. The second name was Alice and the two kids screamed ALICE! I thought this was too easy.. Alice it was... What did we do pre-Google? Well, my pre-Google parents resorted to the old fashioned trick of naming me for my Grandma, Alice. But it's obvious that Google helped you get the right answer.
mk1 Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! One of my dogs, Monte (full name Little Brunello di Montalcino), a brown andwhite Beagle with a liver nose died last week. He was a good boy.... My friends are already coaxing me to replace him. We also have a Shih Tzu. Ibiza is like our 4th child. here is the temptation..... a litter!
tnt Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! Well pictures can be deceiving but I'll be darned if that does not look like a litter of Saint Bernard puppies.. We have been living with Saints for the last 25 years they are great dogs but definitely not a Beagle.. Our current baby girl (named Clare) bounces in at 150 pounds not exactly Beagle size...
mk1 Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! I have only seen the pic, but I was told it was a litter of shih tzu..... My little girl Ibiza looks like a Saint Bernard with the right haircut, or like a English Sheep Dog with a different cut. As long as you don't have anything near her for perspective. She weighs eight pounds. It is unusual for Shih Tzu to have more than 2-3 pups. The mother only weighs 9 pounds!
JohnL Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! I hope Alice is doing well, my wife says look after her because "Alices" are very precious. I should know, because that's my wife's name Still waiting to visit Bali this year, and hoping to meet you.
DennisLinkletter Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! Alice is about 6 months old and 46lbs... She is averaging about a kilo a week IMG_1508_2-1.jpg[/attachment:ti8597ov] IMG_1577.jpg[/attachment:ti8597ov]
Tribeless Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Re: Alice our new puppy is in the house! That is one huge spurt of growth. We've done the sublime to the ludicrous here, going from three Great Danes to this ... And just in case, that's a water safety jacket (for on my kayak), not a jacket. Just saying.

Just saying. I had an Akita for almost 14 years, so I went from dignified and mellow to totally wacky and hyper.. Poodles are just too smart for their own good.. I'm guessing your dog has some oodle in it too.. Alice is sooo naughty I'm sure she thinks her name is NO!
