Firemonkey
For anyone wanting to try a screen, you can get disposable screens at walmart in the grill section for about $.97 each. They have rectangle and round. Expanded aluminum, just like the real screens from the kitchen supply house, only with a slightly concave perimeter, and without the rigid ring around the outsides. I don't use them for pizza, but have a stack that I will use for small vegetables or even roll up to help move things like fatties around. And while disposable, you can certainly toss them in the dishwasher and reuse until thy are too bent to deal with.

Firemonkey
Hey Firemonkey, have you tried Frogmats for doing your fatties? They work great. www.frogmats.com it only took 18 months, but I finally saw this post. I've never heard of frogmats, but I am intrigued. They're cheap enough to get a couple and give them a try. Are they sturdy enough to lift something heavyish - like a chicken or meatloaf?
tony b
Hey, just glad to have you back and posting again, Firemonkey! The frogmat works great, very sturdy. Wouldn't hesitate to pick up a meatloaf with one.

Firemonkey
I'm curious, what has become of your previous kamados? Serious question - keep around for a spare? Sell it? Donate it? Put it in a corner and call it names while you give the kk all your attention?

tony b
Gave away the POSK to a buddy who helped me move it off my deck and the new KK on in it's place. Still have my baby Grill Dome, but never cook on it anymore since I got the basket splitter for the KK. Have contemplated selling it, but never get around to it. Firemonkey
I gave away my #5 POSK, too. Guy fixed the tiles as they fell off, and still cooks on it.
Cookie
I still have a #7 POSK in storage in the USA....missing 25% of its tiles. I have a plan to some day retrieve it in the middle of winter, seal the dampers, fill it with water, let it freeze, then hit it with my .50 Dessert Eagle. tony b
Cookie, PLEASE post a video of it if you do! Every POSK owner would be forever in your debt as that was probably everyone's fantasy!!
