Frankenfoods???

so, one of the things i REALLY like about this forum is all the ideas, and wanting to share something new has a way of pressing me to up my game, so to speak.  recently caught an episode of this new show on tv, and was thinking ABTs kinda qualified as a frankenfood, or would have like 5 years ago...

recently saw an FB post on bacon wrapped donuts.  i don't want to start down that dark path, but am increasingly tempted :)

anyone have any cool new ideas.  was thinking maybe doing abts with quacamole instead of cream cheese, or even slices of avocado.  not mind blowing, i know...  that's why i'm here.

any ideas?

While I generally stick to the classics - ABTs with cream cheese and pre-cooked breakfast sausage, wrapped in bacon with Dizzy Pig Dizzy Dust or chorizo with queso fresco, wrapped in bacon dusted with chili powder; I have experimented with different stuffings, in particular seafood. Try chopped raw oysters with Old Bay and crumbled Ritz crackers, no cheese, but still bacon wrapped dusted with more Old Bay. Chopped raw shrimp, with cocktail sauce, bacon wrapped with Dizzy Pig Tsunami Spin. Langoustine (lobster and crab work, too) with parsley garlic butter, crumbled Ritz crackers, bacon wrapped dusted with lemon pepper (think ABT meets Lobster Roll).

so, i did it...  can't say i'm proud of myself, but i did it.  pretty tasty, even better dipped in maple syrup...  200 deg for a couple hours i guess.  wrapped each in about 1.5 strips of bacon and sprinkled with sugar.  some of them burst a little bit.  i think if i ever do this again, i'll do it with frozen twinkies.

After eating the bacon wrapped twinkies I'm shocked you're still alive to tell about it. Those look incredible, are they fat free? LOL!

Still not sure what to call these other than delicious....

Banana wrapped in bacon cooked low and slo for 3 hours, and placed in a twinkie with crunchy peanut butter and bittersweet chocolate. Back on the KK for 5 minutes to melt.

I can only say how proud I and all the crew here at Komodo Kamado are of you guys... Q-ing into unsmoked territories.

It's not easy to get that much sugar and fat into a single bite.  Do agree that freezing the twinkles would reduce the boil over/out and save some of those desperately needed calories from leaking out..

Congrats on two jobs well done..

that is the work of an evil genius!!  i think i'd just do the bacon wrapped banana, but the rest of it gave it the whole "chili dog" effect, which is wayy cool!  i bow to your leg-upmanship!  nice pics!  nothing there looks wrong at all!
