tony b
Love me some hushpuppies. Will have to try yours. But, be careful posting about dropping puppies into hot oil or you'll have the ASPCA on your back!! Believe it or not, these commercial ones are pretty damned good. Unfortunately, my local market stopped carrying them! http://www.savannahclassics.com/products/retail-hushpuppies-original.html

CeramicChef
Shack - I'm in Oklahoma City. Not exactly the DEEP South, but I've lived in Houston, NOLA, down on the Red Neck Riveria around Mobile and Pensacola, and in Gainesville. Great places for seafood! I miss the Gulf. Those sugar white beaches are spectacular. I miss the Gulf Coast, all the great seafood and sun and sea. Nothing like the smell of salt air and hickory smoke!
