Shuley Posted October 9, 2016 Report Posted October 9, 2016 So tonight during my cook, when the lid was open I noticed that the pin (not sure that is the technical term) that goes into the rod of the cap to make sure you don't loosen it too much was missing. I removed the grates and looked in the firebox but I couldn't find it. Does anyone know the correct term and sizeof the pin and if i can just grab one from home depot? I'd hate to unscrew the cap too much, that thing is a beast!
Aussie Ora Posted October 9, 2016 Report Posted October 9, 2016 It's called a cotter pin and it looks to be the same size as the one on the back hinge just take that one off and take it to any half decent hardware store so they can match it up for youOutback Kamado Bar and Grill
ckreef Posted October 9, 2016 Report Posted October 9, 2016 As Aussie said it's called a cotter pin. Home Depot, Lowes or just about any hardware store will have them. Exact size isn't really important but it does need to be able to go into the hole at the bottom of top vent threads.
Shuley Posted October 9, 2016 Author Report Posted October 9, 2016 Thank you, I'll be heading to the store soon!Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
tinyfish Posted October 11, 2016 Report Posted October 11, 2016 Shuley, I lost mine a while ago. I should go get another one too.
EGGARY Posted October 11, 2016 Report Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) It's a Hitch Pin. Could use a Cotter Pin as well. Edited October 11, 2016 by EGGARY 1
