Valvic Posted June 7, 2018 Report Posted June 7, 2018 Hello, I am about to pull the trigger on a 32. Does anyone know if the freight driver just drops the crate off or will they at least place it where you want it, within reason, of course. I have a fairly long driveway and I do not think he will be able to back down it so he would need to use his fork lift to get it down the end of the driveway. Thanks for you help. dan
jonj Posted June 7, 2018 Report Posted June 7, 2018 I imagine it would depend on what you mean by "fairly long." 100 feet, 100 yards, 1/4 mile? A good attitude, a willingness to help and providing a tip can go a long way.
Pequod Posted June 7, 2018 Report Posted June 7, 2018 I have a long driveway with a slope. In both cases the driver put it where I wanted at the front of my garage.
ckreef Posted June 7, 2018 Report Posted June 7, 2018 The driver is only obligated for curb side service in most cases. If you are nice and slide him a tip you can usually talk the driver into a bit more.
5698k Posted June 7, 2018 Report Posted June 7, 2018 As said, a few bucks will likely help. That said, the grills roll quite easily on their own, provided a reasonably smooth surface. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Chanly1983 Posted June 8, 2018 Report Posted June 8, 2018 Make sure to ask what kind of vehicle will be delivering! I was told a 24’ to 26’ box truck... NOT 24’ TO 26’. BUT some cash and he actually pushed it up the drive way with some help and was willing to roll it on plywood to the back side of my house, until the pallet jacks’ wheels got stuck.
