  1. Today
  2. its been raining for weeks and finally got to cook on the kk… smoked bacon (was pancetta but i’m scared to eat it raw) 😅 smoked chicken and sausage. used a new battery powered air pump so now i’m running the kk smoker untethered from the outlet.
  3. And lunch and dinner and desert, and maybe a late night snack lol
  4. What do you do with the other 199 wine corks?
  5. Yesterday
  6. 😢 I placed an order with Ace online for 2 bags of Weekend Warrior, with a delivery date of tomorrow (28th). Got an email yesterday afternoon saying that my order had been cancelled. I enquired to find out why. Customer service said that it was due to a stock shortage, but the online store said it was "in stock." WTF? I'm going to wait a couple of weeks and try again. 🤞
  7. I just make a holder for the grate clip out of an old wine cork. Cut notches out of the end so it fits snuggly in between the grate rods. I put either a nail or screw in the top end to clip the alligator clip to. This insulates the probe from the hot grate and you get a true measure of the air temperature around the meat.
  8. I smoked 10 pounds of bacon on the KK recently but last night I smokes a few slices in the WFO. I'm looking forward to breakfast, truth be told I look forward to breakfast everyday.
  9. Thanks, I ordered the BBQ Guru fan last night and got an RMA number from Fireboard so I can send send their fan back today. It’s too bad they don’t have a BBQ Guru port adaptor.
  10. I just ate this for breakfast, lol. This is a popular dessert in Japan. It's a japanese milk bread sandwich with fresh fruit and whipped cream. After you make the shokupan (recipe in yt link) with a pullman pan lid closed. Cut thick slices. Cut off crust. Whip cream (I use powdered sugar for stability). Pipe or spread the cream on once slice of bread. Place fruit (try to pick pieces equal in size) in a diagonal because you want to cut the sandwich in a triangle and expose the fruit when sliced. Pipe some more cream on top and close the sandwich. Plastic wrap and place in fridge overnight. Cut the sandwich with the plastic wrap to keep it together.
  11. I have the Fireboard 2 Pro as well. I have used it several times with great success. I have the BBQ Guru fan which fits nicely. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the Fireboard 2 Pro. One tip, I'd suggest buying a grate clip that fits between the grate rather than the alligator clip it comes with. I had troubles with the alligator clip not fitting around the thick stainless grates. (I love the heavy duty grates by the way.) Best of luck!
  12. Last week
  13. That looks amazing !!!!!
  14. Yes it does, but i am no longer using the flame boss.
  15. The flame boss works with the guru fan.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Bringing this back from the dead, i just got the Fireboard Pro and can confirm that their ball valve adaptor does not fit the KK. It sure is close but it wont work unless you grind off the threads. i'll be sending back their fan and will keep using the one from my flame boss 300 with the adaptor that I know fits. If anything happens to that I'll just buy the BBQ Guru fan. Really looking forward to trying the fireboard, i charged it up today and did some configuration.
  17. this was done on the anova toaster oven. but you can do this on the kk, pizza oven, whatever that can get real hot.. so you take any lobster (mine was a live ornate spiny). split it in half. sauce the body in garlic butter. par cook it at 180c for 6min. remove and preheat oven to broil. put shredded cheese on the body. the more melty kind the better. roast it at 250c for 8 min. serve with lemon and even more melted butter.
  18. That was a "tribute" band concert, but not just any tribute band - it was made up of Jack Bruce's and Ginger Baker's sons and Eric Clapton's nephew. They were DAMN good!
  19. Congratulations on your new smoker/grill/barbecue/baker. Ask away if you have any questions about it.
  20. Don’t mess it up by washing it, Bill. And that’s still a great Cream album to this day, Tony.
  21. A couple of days near 100 F here in California. Nice to be able to bake bread outside in the KK.
  22. As I drove past the local Ace Hardware today, I thought to myself, I need to stop in there and see if I can order the Weekend Warrior charcoal and have it delivered here. I've always been a fan and I haven't been able to get it here for years now.
  23. You are absolutely right. My bad!!!
  24. Unfortunately his was sold I’m still on the hunt if anyone wants to sell!
  25. Thanks! Gonna get me some! Below is what apparently it looked like in 2005 but that's a long time ago (as opposed to above link 2021). http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lumpdatabase/lumpbag54.htm
  26. Then I’ll have to wash mine tomorrow lol
