  1. @tony b this was my claim to fame back in the day. I had LT do our commercials for 8 years when he was dominating the league check this out
  2. @tony b that’s awesome. The Tahitian is the 7x7 model great spa. They’re super high quality will last you another 12 as long as you maintain it which I’m sure you do. That’s really awesome.
  3. Leaks are fixed. Hot tub was delivered today. Should be soaking in the tub tomorrow night with the family. Extremely grateful for that. I grew up in the hot tub business and this brand Caldera Spas was started by my Dad and godfather. We got out of the business long ago and it’s now manufacturers by Watkins Manufacturing which also owns Hot Springs Spas the model I got is called the Cantabria it’s essentially the KK equivalent of hot tubs https://www.calderaspas.com/shop/utopia/cantabria
  4. @Basher I love that sandstone. And I gotta say I agree with Mac your wife was right on that bowl. its really starting to come together beautifully
  5. Hit a little snag this week. As part of the relocation of the pool equipment I hired a guy to test for leaks to make sure no major pool pipes were busted during all this demolition. He was supposed to come out prior to concrete being poured but that didn’t happen due to corona virus craziness/miscommunication between parties. So I got the leak guy out and sure enough we had a leak under the footing of the bbq island. Fixed it checked it again and there was another leak under the other footing on the island. So we got our smallest guy and had him tunnel underneath the concrete until he found the other leak and he fixed it yesterday. They said the guy was the same guy who tunneled El Chapo out of prison so while it may or may not be true we are back on track wrve been Vacillating in the color paint the cover. Our landscape designer has been suggesting greys we think we want brown. That’ll get resolved this week, we’ll slap some paint on it and should be done in 2 weeks or so. After that’s done I promise to shut down this thread and post in the other forums but for now the journey continues. Pics of the tunnel under the island are attached
  6. Those beach tops are stunning. That’s going to look amazing once finished
  7. @Basher looking good! I like the limestone a lot but I can’t tell you if it’s the same as the White House mate sorry. They dint let me get that close l but it’s looking good!
  8. @tony b that’s why we did the remodel we have a lot of space but it wasn’t designed well or opened up ever. There a lot of space to cover
  9. @Basher it’s called a Chinese orchid I took a picture of the plant list happy to send it to you
  10. @tekobo thank you. I’m currently trying to decide what to plant but I think I’ve landed on the following herbs - basil, rosemary, thyme vegetables - cucumber, zucchini, kale, red & yellow peppers strawberries our landscaping plan already calls for pineapple guava trees, passion fruit trees, lime, orange, lemon and kumquat trees @jonj thanks I definitely will if everyone is interested. It won’t be fully fine till all this corona virus stuff is done though. The hot tub is stuck on the loading dock at the factory and we special ordered these lime, orange and lemon trees that are called espaliered citrus which grows more like a vine in a wall those citrus trees are at a business that’s shut down so we won’t have that or the passion fruit tree till after this is over. But we’ll be 90% of the way there and we’ll be able to “shelter at home” on a side note the turf got done last Saturday and my 4 & 2 year old finally got to go outside and play and run around. It was a joyous occasion
  11. Plant delivery today! Rain in forecast all week do not sure when they’ll get planted but for now my front yard looks like a forest
  12. @Basher it will be worth it in the end. Having your yard done so you can enjoy it during your family will make it all worth it
  13. @Bruce Pearson my local butcher shop makes them and they marinate them in Jack Daniels. They used to be called Jack Daniels sausages until they got slapped around by the trade mark police. So they now call them bourbon sausages. We used to cook these at our tailgates every week when the chargers are here. I’ve pretty much switched to only eating these sausages about 19 years ago. It’s really hard to mess them up unless you forget about them and overcook them. Butcher makes it easy
  14. Sure we can have a KK owners convention in San Diego! I’ll happily host
  15. You have an open invitation to come to San Diego and soak up some sun after this is over and impart you’re knowledge into my brain
  16. @MacKenzie first time I forgot about the crazy world we live in right now and just relaxed. That’s what I love about cooking
  17. Smoked ribs today. First cook in the new spot fir the KK. Turned out great. Moist and juicy. I had a moment today where I was putting my ribs on the KK and I looked around at all the work that had been done over the last few months and I took a deep breath and soaked it in and just for that moment everything felt good and right in the world and I was doing what I dreamed I’d be doing months ago....
  18. Congrats Mayor. I’m a new owner as well and am loving the KK so far. I got all the same accessories as you but have not yet used my rotisserie or pizza stone yet. I’m not gonna do a bbq guru but that’s mainly cause I don’t sleep and don’t mind checking on my overnight cooks. you’re well on your way from the sound of things.
  19. The people on this forum are awesome and they were a big reason why I felt comfortable jumping into the KK world with both feet.
  20. @jonj it rolls a bit if you push/lean on it not much but I just ordered some bed frame stoppers from Amazon that BigShep turned me onto so I’m sure that’ll work. Where I had it temporarily was a bit sloped concrete much more than the current spot so that could’ve been part of it as well. I have my first cook in the final spot tomorrow thanks again @BIGSHEP coming out strong!
  21. @Basher it’s almost done. Put the fridge in and slap some paint in there and it’ll be done. I sincerely appreciate all your help on this and appreciate the insight you provided. Thank you very much.
  22. The KK has assumed its final resting spot. I took a picture of the view from my couch living room. The KK stands out and shines. Need to figure out a better way to anchor the wheels but I can’t wait for my first cook this Friday.....ribs
  23. I just switched over from a Weber Smokey mountain and have found cooking on the KK much easier and the food is the juiciest bbq I’ve ever cooked
