Re: This Noob Suggests..... I was new here once. Did you think I posted to the point of nausea? I thought you liked my posts. Deej likes me. You go eat worms. TWharton, you cook and post and do whatever you want. Don't let the killjoys step on your buzz. Hrumph. No, but your posts BEFORE you became a noob were very entertaining. I do remember the term "over exuberant" or something to that effect. But it's very common with us all as we enter the majical world of ceramic cooking. Believe it or not...even Gerard was exuberant when he was a noob.

Re: This Noob Suggests..... There you go...from a noob whose cooked a lot of meet without any wired up stuff One of the requirements of noobyism is to post ad naueum Some people gotta have the toys though and it's their right I'm planning on getting a rotisserie...although with a KK there is really no need for one...cause I just gotta have one though.
-
Re: Toy No, definately not necessary. Many of us don't own one and do low-n-slows just fine. Some people recommend not getting one at least until after you have learned to control the temps on your own. I don't have one for several reasons. 1. I'm a cheap scape 2. I hate technology...and one more thing to learn to work don't sound good. If it weren't fot those 2 minor issues, I'd probably get one. But you can cook low-n-slows just fine without them.
-
No, definately not necessary...but definately a nice toy to play with.

Well, he may have bgt it and then basically did a rebuild like Maj did...and that's pretty much homemade. But seeing as the pics show it ain't even his cooker...he's been busted bad.
-
That is funny. You know I went to the guys feedback just to see what he's bgt recently and he has a large dehydrator as his latest buy. So he's gonna make jerky and sell it but he don't have a camera to take his own pics or what? Maybe he thought AlanZ's looked better. Maybe it's RJ trying to figure out another angle

Beef Jerky Setup on Kamado Here's an interesting link I found on Ebay. Somebody with a Komado is doing a large batch of beef jerky. Looks like he has 10 racks going. Wonder what temp he's able to do it at? So, I guess you can figure out a way to get enough on there huh. DJ, coould you get to work welding up some racks and rack seperators for us so we can have this going pretty soon. We love you man http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=010&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=200054517433&rd=1&rd=1

First Cook In Gulf Breeze - Phase 2 - Part 1 & Part 2

Dude...you're always happy...you an old yellar -
I'd say it's a lot better than the plastic model...just from looking at it. But as long as it holds the heat and the fan works, you'll be fine with whatever you decide.
-
Gigantor hasn't cooled yet has she. That's good, you'll never have to worry about thermal shock
-
Can't wait to see
-
It may be nice although mine doesn't have it. As long as you remember when you started dehydrating and how long you plan on going you should be OK.

Hey Cruz, Here's an Ebay auction for a 9-tray excaliber. The seller has 53 of them and offers free shipping. It's one of those auctions where you can make an offer. Offer $150 and see what he says. http://cgi.ebay.com/Excalibur-Dehydrator-Model-2900-NIB_W0QQitemZ4446666764QQihZ001QQcategoryZ32883QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Re: Funny Well I used to drink some wine back in the day...never got past Double-Barrel or MD 20-20 really though. The flat bottles were a big plus cause once we got really drunk and ran outta money they would fit down our pants a lot easier in the store so we could escape without paying. That was really the main criteria in our wine tasting club We never really looked at what color it was. I once went out with this really uppidy girl that had me drinking Boonesfarm though. That sounded like really girly wine to me at the time...but a couple quarts and you would be clobbered. I never had any of that boxed wine I hear you can get at Krogers but I heard it was pretty tasty. I know, I know, ya'll prolly never really took me for a wine conasuer did ya Yep, if I hadn't quit drinking I'd prolly be curly up in an alley right now with a flat bottle of something in my britches -
I wish I did. Yes it is a luxury but one that contributes to a better lifestyle so I am willing to pay it. People pay the same amount for cigarettes and booze as I do for my trainer. Different priorities I guess. Hey, I resemble that booze remark! -=Jasen=- Well, at least he didn't mention the narcotics...when you have to start getting them off the street they'll be $15-20 apiece.

Rule #1...never read the instructions! But hot water works fine...just takes a lot longer that 2 minutes. And I have yet to melt any plastic into my food...though I have stretched many a bag Dang, fore long you'll be off red meat too, I hear it's bad for ya -

Different priorities I guess. Good point...but at least they are happy Just kidding...I don't drink or smoke either...but I have to much work around the house to have time to work out. Try getting a woodstove and splitting your own wood...seems kinda like a workout to me.

hmmm....a huge tofu brick? Avacado . Whatever you do, don't slather it with mustard or you'll lose it
-
I doubt that is possible with you. I figured you were saturated after the first half of the sentence! hehe -=Jasen=- I was hoping my wife would get imparted back to Mexico...but they won't take her back.

I agree, I try to never put any plastic in the microwave, something about hot plastic next to my food give me the heebie jeebies. It may be another few decades, but I'd bet we'll find out it's not good fer ya, and I know we're all health nuts, right? Oh Lordy, you sound like my wife. But...doesn't boiling the bag get it hot too...dohhhh -
All the beef around here eat grass all day long. Well, she's plenty strong...she picked me up and helicoptered me yesterday before ending with a knee slam...dawg that hurt.
-
I like to use center round (also referred to as eye round) as it is very lean. Bottom round is good too. I hear some folks use chuck, but dang that would have to be a lot of cuttin' to get that lean enough. -=Jasen=- Yes, Eye Round is what I've used mostly. If you buy them whole you can usually get it about half price. But dude, you prolly got money out the wing-wang, with a trainer and all

I got this quote from the website Cruz posted. Dang man, I noticed my purdy thang had put on 25-50 lbs or so, but wasn't aware that it was all muscle...cool. "After consuming 3 pounds per day of US Wellness Meats, my lean muscle has increased 25 pounds, while body fat percentage has decreased and believe it or not LDL cholesterol dropped 50 points. I have never had any training regime change impact my performance as much as the switch to grass-fed beef by US Wellness Meats."
