Good to hear that...get into a KK if you hear anything
-
Happy New Years to you too. Great pics...keep em coming. You're gonna be the envy of all those Aussies when you get the KK.

Chubby has seen how much that KK will hold...and he knows it will hold his weight if he's butchered right I love the boy...and I hope he knows his limits

A month or 2 ago, Chubby drug a portion of a coyote carcas up onto the front porch and ate what was left. The skull, backbone and a back leg. Last night my wife got home and he had a cow skull by the front porch chewing on it. I'm waiting for him to drag one of the neighbors cows up on the porch...still mooing

You probably need to calibrate your thermometers every so often. I have a piece of wood with holes drilled in it to accomadate the thermometers. I sit them in the boiling water to make sure they are at 212 (or close).

Columbia's only about 90 miles from here...I may have to come for a visit. Never done a whole tenderloin...to rich for my blood. I'd probably cut it up into filets and savor it for weeks to come. But I'm cheap like that

Let's see some pics of them all lined up...give us a perspective here

Yep, a piece of artwork indeed.

Hmmm...I'll look at that when I get home. Plug it into what, the cable that the camera docking station plugs into?

We had a few people mention something about a new tradition and that's sorta what we were hoping for...lots of family on the holidays is great with us.

Relatively no effect on a cook or a cooker...but it's heck on a cookee There is no comparison on cooking with one of these and cooking with a metal cooker...especially when you are cooking in cold weather. I'm in South Carolina now, and was in Georgia before that, and of course we don't have the winters ya'll have, but we do get to the teens and 20's though not often, and not for as long. So some of these northerners will need to respond but you shouldn't hear any complaints with cold weather cooking on a ceramic cooker.

I cooked a beautiful 23 lb turkey for Christmas dinner. We had a big ole ham and tons of other food, about 14 adults and 5 or 6 little ones I guess, all from the wifes family. But my Kodak Easyshare software quit working a day or 2 before Christmas so I cannot upload any pictures. I have unloaded and reloaded the software a number of times without success...what a pain in the arse technology can be Anyway, I know the turkey don't count since I have no pics (I took a few just in case I get the software working) but it sure was (and still is) tasting great. I ate the same meal Tuesday night and today at lunch. We took a ton of meat off of the carcass and put it with onions and broth and other stuff in the crock pot and let it go all night, so we're set with some great turkey soup too. We also had a bunch of turkey left over for sandwiches and a turkey pot pie or 2 I hope. It was the first time we've ever lived close enough to have family at our house for a holiday meal, so it was pretty cool. Hope everyones Christmas dinner was as good as ours.

Hey PaulR...we have a GregR who is also a member of this forum, are ya'll related (I guess this is the friendly BS Zorro was speaking of ) Welcome, don't worry about our admin, all they think about is that paycheck they get for all their labors. I'm sure you'll love the barbie, you will be the envy of your Ausie brethren. Keep us informed on what you are getting. We will need some outback pics.

You can use a chimney, just get the coals going a little (low-n-slow coook) and dump them in or all the way lit for a hot cook. There's also the weed burner, just 5-10 seconds aimed at the coals and you are off and running. Then, of course, you could get a cooked with a gas option and you are there. I think you mentioned newspaper, another way. Put it this way, they are really a breeze to get started...in a number of ways. Merry Christmas...it's 7:00AM and I'm getting ready to wake my 8 yr old daughter so she can open her presents. I can't remember sleeping til 7am when I was 8 yrs old

Man...I cooked 4 steaks today and the wife, daughter and I ate dinner. I was gonna have a steak to take in for lunch this week. I went outside to help my daughter decorate Chubby's new doghouse with her wondeful art work and the wife came to the door for a quick look. She left the steak unattended for a minute at most and the little runt dog (not Chubby, a small dog like a pikenese) had already found a way to get up on the table and ate the steak and was over laying down trying to act innocent.

Only while you're sleeping; so my snoring doesn't wake you. BTW; What's the quote trick? When I use the quote button, the system inserts "Quote:" (in bold text) in the message; however, when you quote you seem to have text control; like "johnnyboy wrote:" instead of "Quote:". Tricks baby, tricks please. Did you delete anything from it? DJ is the trick person, I can just barely get by
-
It's so beautiful...how could you cover it
-
DJ's right...I'm on the wagon for 26 years now...don't tempt me...I'm still weak Plus, DJ takes up my slack and then some.
