Hawaiian Pirate Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 No didn't cook one, but i did carve one into Travertine and then airbrushed color and sealed with casting resin. Normally i carve and etch glass so this was something different for me. The tiles where 18"x18"
Sanny Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Lookit what you did! Neato! Almost want to feed it bugs, or something.
bobvoeh Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Just awesome !!! It looks like there is a real turtle swimming above the tile. I wonder how many people will do a double take when they walk in to the room where that will be installed "Ahhhh, Turtle !!!"
TheNakedWhiz Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Wow! Do you do that for a living? If not, you should, lol!

Actually the caving and coloring stone tile is something new, what i have being doing for the last 20 years is carve and etch glass.
primeats Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 HP you are truly talented, to create beauty from an ordinary object is indeed a gift. One that did not come without great sacrifice and experience, I'm sure!

Hawaiian Pirate Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 Mahalo for the feedback on my artwork. Fortunately i have had very little breakage over the years and no cut fingers. My wife would like me to get away from the glass do to the dangers form glass and carbide dust and get back to my oil paintings. But for now i think i'm going to put some beer on ice stuff a bunch of jalapenos and fire up the KK.

But still WOW!!! Yup, time for a beer and some Q. It's weekend, finally. Aaaah.

Hawaiian Pirate Posted March 29, 2008 Author Report Posted March 29, 2008 OK you asked for it I use to do portrait and figure but now i have being doing more wildlife. The drawing in called "Silverpoint" i draw with a piece of silver that i put a point on. It's a type of drawing that was done 600 to 700 years ago, very few people do it now because once you put a mark down you can't change it {no eraser}. The other paintings are oils.
