  1. If you cook your last turkey carcass in large pot or roaster and make turkey stock instead of soup, Freeze stock in 1 cup servings and you can use that next time you make dressing and it will taste like it came out of the turkey. Depending on how much stock you use it will be moist and not dry. It works for me.
  2. Re: And the Prius up on blocks in the yard... I worked for a guy many years ago who was a successful businessman and quite a character. He tackled problems immediately and directly then moved on. So when the new fridge showed up and wouldn't fit throught the door to the house, he told the delivery guys to hang on a moment, walked to the garage, returned with a chain-saw and proceeded to hack a hole in the side of the house right where the fridge needed to go. They slid in the fridge while he rang his contractor to come fix the wall. Not the safest or most efficient method, but he did get things done. I may have been the delivery guy, because that happened to me about 35 years ago. He got the saw cut the hole the wall fell into the yard and he said it'll fit now slide it in there. Craziest thing i saw while delivering appliance's.
  3. WOW looks great. i like DJ's idea of the stone lip for the grill. The pigtail arm, it would be nice if you could find a Blacksmith that can do wrought iron work and continue that old world look.
  4. "Wiki" Is a Hawaiian word meaning " Quick or Fast" and if you want to pronounce it properly the w sounds like a v as in Viki.
  5. Momentum... after 50 it was more of a free fall, but don't worry when you get there you'll laugh and scream all the way, like a roller coaster ride. Form Hawaii Hau'oli La Hanau Hanau ( Happy Birthday) from Hawaii
  6. As John Candy said " Nice kitty your a pretty kitty" one of my favorite lines form that movie
  7. I've got turkey that has been brineing for the last 5 days, baked potato's, veges and pineapple to grill. Whats going on in your world?
  8. You can get some pretty dangerous flashback when opening a sealed grill with a roaring fire. Especially when you close off all the air to a big fire. Trick is to give it some air before opening back up. Open the bottom damper or just crack the lid open slowly also works. I think most everyone here has singed a few hairs at some point in their ceramic lives. Consider it your rite of passage now...hehe...just don't kept passing through it anymore. -=Jasen=- BTW, The Naked Whiz web site has some great info on flashbacks. He even put his own life in peril (for our amusement) just to provide us with the safety information...hehehe. http://www.nakedwhiz.com/flash.htm --------------------------------------------------------------------- Woo that smell can't you smell that smell The smell of burnt hair is around you. After the first two flashes I've gotten in the habit of cracking the lid and give it a 2 count then open. I don't even care what the temp is, if i don't do it every time i know it will bite me sooner or later. It can get easy to forget after a few beers to check the temperature Whizzy>>>>>>>>
  9. No holes in the pan just a design. I did go back and look at the picture and can see how you may have seen holes.
  10. Looks great!! Did you make containers for the lump? What have you got going on there
  11. I have never painted or drawn any ducks but it would be no different than any other subject. I think it would be different. The glass would quack more easily. Sometimes you quack me up!!
  12. I have never painted or drawn any ducks but it would be no different than any other subject.
  13. OK you asked for it I use to do portrait and figure but now i have being doing more wildlife. The drawing in called "Silverpoint" i draw with a piece of silver that i put a point on. It's a type of drawing that was done 600 to 700 years ago, very few people do it now because once you put a mark down you can't change it {no eraser}. The other paintings are oils.
  14. If your turtle is even a hint of what you do in oils, WOW!! Oh - I said that twice already. But still WOW!!! Yup, time for a beer and some Q. It's weekend, finally. Aaaah. If you would like to see a couple of my paintings just let me know and i'll post them.
  15. Mahalo for the feedback on my artwork. Fortunately i have had very little breakage over the years and no cut fingers. My wife would like me to get away from the glass do to the dangers form glass and carbide dust and get back to my oil paintings. But for now i think i'm going to put some beer on ice stuff a bunch of jalapenos and fire up the KK.
  16. Never used one but it looks like a handy tool and more versatile than a weed burner. Although i personally wouldn't use it for a grill lifter like the say you can. I don't think i would hang it on the side of the grill as they have done in the picture.
  17. No didn't cook one, but i did carve one into Travertine and then airbrushed color and sealed with casting resin. Normally i carve and etch glass so this was something different for me. The tiles where 18"x18"
  18. In the kk about 425 for 25 minutes. I had a stone in there but thought it may be to hot on the bottom of the bread for that long. So i put them on a insulated cookie pan. It seemed to work because the bottom come out perfect.
  19. This is the first time i have ever cooked bread ( not including pizza ) in Gen II or any other oven. Put minced Rosemary and Garlic in dough for flavor
  20. I used a uhaul with a ramp, we had a large fridge dolly, me at the top two friends controlling the speed down the ramp. After moving the second one They both said that they would be checking there caller id just in case i was to call again. The dolly had about 3/4" on each side of the ramp.
