smokykensbbq Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Here is my first attempt at a leg of lamb so hopefully it turns out good. Right now it's sitting in the cooler wrapped in tin foil and a towel. I coated it with yellow mustard, thyme, rosemary and garlic powder. Hopefully it goes over with the family.
ThreeDJ16 Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Well, it looks delicious! One of these days I need to actually try cooking lamb.... -=Jasen=-
smokykensbbq Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 Wow! That lamb was delicious and the entire family really liked it. I will definitely be doing that one again. I put it in the KK for around two hours at 325 until the temperature hit 135. I then wrapped it for a half hour. The lamb was extremely juicy and tender and the seasonings did a great job of enhancing the flavor.
Sanny Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Ok, first post was at 4:16 ("hope it comes out well, it's in the cooler"). Second post was at 5:21 ("wow, that was good"). In ONE HOUR or less, you served the lamb, sucked it down, cleaned the table, and posted a report?? You gotta slow down, man! There's indigestion in your future!

Yeah, after looking at that pic, there was not much doubt in my mind you would be reporting back with tasty results!! Keep up the great food porn! -=Jasen=-
Conodo12 Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 That does look quite tasty! No wonder it got ate so fast!!
PaulR Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Looks great... It's a leg of lamb for me tomorrow (yeah yeah pics will be posted). How long did you actually cook it for (medium temps or low 200F's)?
smokykensbbq Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 I cooked the lamb at 325 for just about two hours. I pulled it once the meat hit 135 degrees. I followed the directions from what Nakedwhiz posted when he did his lamb. I was really happy with the results. The texture and the look of the meat reminded me of prime rib.
bobvoeh Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 I remember eating leg of lamb when I was a kid, but it never looked like THAT !!! Great job
