tcoliver Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 I use a grill floss as well and changing the grill configuration would make it harder to clean IMHO rather than easier. For the grills floss to work best I find I need to scrap from two directions. Scrap the grate from one side and then flip 180 and do it from the other side. If the grates run 12 to 6 this becomes impossible because of the lid. I say leave it alone. I too use the grill floss in this fashion and would be disappointed if I could not use in both directions. Then again my grill will last long past my lifetime however I do believe there will be others that will be disappointed too. I subscribe to the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" theory. Quote

It was the direction agreed upon during the early development of the grill.. It works best with the front door and is the strongest structurally.. Quote

Left to right grates appear as solid when the front flap is closed Quote
Syzygies Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Re: Grates running from 12 to 6 oclock? Grate running from 12 to 6 o'clock? That would be for ribs, maybe. For butt we usually run from 9 pm to 6 pm the next night... Quote
