LeadDog
I saw these tiles a while back when I was looking at different tile colors. I just haven't been able to get them out of my mind. Can you imagine the possibilities of having these on a cooker? Home page Showcase Let the animation load. Products Specs The tiles change colors according to their temperature and they look really great. I just wonder if a cooker could be done in them? LeadDog
I saw that and I saw this also. The MOVING COLORâ„¢ glass tiles are waterproof and can be used for any kind of water installation. I wonder if some arm twisting could get them to make something that would work for a cooker? paul1927
Thank for posting about the tiles. I had been searching for those ever since I saw thermochromatic mugs. http://www.wondermugs.com/productpage.a ... entalmagic I also thought photochromatic tiles would be an attractive upgrade, if they exist. It appears they do: http://www.infotile.com/services/techpa ... 20tiles%22 I have a few photochromatic t-shirts and the kids love 'em as do I. http://www.solaractiveintl.com/images/t ... um_out.jpg
leeherd
Ok, I don't know how refined the technology is on these. But just imagine if you could read the temp based off the color of your grill. No need for fancy remote electronics. Just glance out the window and if you green Komodo is bright red you know you are at 250 F Coool!!
LeadDog
Yep that is what I was thinking. You would get use to your cooker having certain colors for the different cooks that you do. I just wonder what one would look like?
Sanny
I have an indoor thermometer that changes color to show indoor temp. Maybe it wouldn't work because the heat is SO high. Colors change at ambient temps, but at the high cooking temps, they'd all be red or yellow, or whatever. Hmm.
Firemonkey
Those are pretty cool...If I had those nobody could call my grill pink anymore I suspect they recommend indoor use because prolonged sunlight will wreak havoc on them.
