What about theses tiles?

I saw these tiles a while back when I was looking at different tile colors. I just haven't been able to get them out of my mind. Can you imagine the possibilities of having these on a cooker?

The tiles change colors according to their temperature and they look really great. I just wonder if a cooker could be done in them?

Very cool looking! You might think you are smoking something else! Though I wonder there upper temp limit?

There is also this:

Technical Notes:

• At this time, we recommend interior applications only.

I saw that and I saw this also.

The MOVING COLORâ„¢ glass tiles are waterproof and can be used for any kind of water installation.

I wonder if some arm twisting could get them to make something that would work for a cooker?

Can't we just get Dennis to add one more layer, a water layer :D . Great insulation Dennis!

Thank for posting about the tiles. I had been searching for those ever since I saw thermochromatic mugs.

I also thought photochromatic tiles would be an attractive upgrade, if they exist. It appears they do:

I have a few photochromatic t-shirts and the kids love 'em as do I. 8)

Ok, I don't know how refined the technology is on these. But just imagine if you could read the temp based off the color of your grill. No need for fancy remote electronics. Just glance out the window and if you green Komodo is bright red you know you are at 250 F

Coool!!

I have an indoor thermometer that changes color to show indoor temp. Maybe it wouldn't work because the heat is SO high. Colors change at ambient temps, but at the high cooking temps, they'd all be red or yellow, or whatever.

Hmm.
