  1. Sweet red peppers that I've enjoyed before so much that it just had to be done again. Done. Along with the peppers I roasted a peach. Ready to grill. On the grill. I didn't use a whole lot of lump as this cook was going to be with the lid open. Peppers and peach halves. Grilled Peach. Served with some homemade vanilla bean ice cream and Nova Scotia maple syrup. A sandwich with SVed eye of the round, cheese, roasted pepper, lettuce and sourdough bread. Served with a helping of fries. The view from the front door this evening:)

  3. Tony - that should work just fine and dandy. As has been noted get it high in the dome. I'd also use some parchment paper under your pizza. Just a thought.

  4. My uncrating yesterday was almost identical though I did not take the crate apart. I got someone to help me lift the crate off once the 8 lag bolts were removed. But all the pics here are great. One note I would add, that I believe I saw elsewhere, is that the Beast ships on a pedestal. In addition to all the wrapping and strapping and wood traps, the body sits on a pedestal that prevents the wheels from making full contact with the wood floor, and thus making rolling almost impossible. I believe one approach was to remove the lid, and then get help lifting the bottom off the pedestal. This didn't make any sense to me, unless you specifically want to save the bottom pallet base intact. Like another member, I cut the pedestal down so the KK could make contact with the base and then be rolled onto the ramp. BTW, that ramp, built into the lid of the crate, is just ingenious. P.S. Anyone have easy access to a 32BBKK owner's manual they would be willing to share? I still haven't received one yet.

  5. I'd light my fire at least 2 hours before cook time and even longer it you have a chance.

  7. Had a lot going on today, and I was slightly hampered by the absence of an owner's manual, so uncrating was a slow process. I actually thought I was only getting charcoal today, so when the beast rolled on to the truck lift gate, it was like Christmas. When the crate first appeared, I swear the olive & gold pebble finish looked like a velociraptor was inside. We need to find Taz a temporary home away from the (hard) water sprinklers, until his permanent place by the pool is finished. More to come.

  8. Bosco, the Cdn dollar killed me when I bought my KK but I just didn't want to wait, that could be a long time. I live too far from the border to have a US postal box for pick up, 3-4 hour drive each way.

  9. I am a huge US shopper. Right now the dollar is kind of crummy for us. This kk is going to be 30% more for me with just the exchange. I have a postal box in Lewiston NY that I do all of my online shopping with but haven't bought in a while

  10. Yep, he's still around. Doesn't look anymore like he did in that photo, but he's still in shape. He was in Enter the Dragon and several VanDamm movies (Bloodsport). The one and only Bolo Yeung. So Bolo is a name I'm tossing around for the Bronze Komodo

  11. Another update. My Bronze Komodo will be in Texas tonight. I live in Louisiana so it's within reach. I also received my CyberQ today. Easy peasy! I had it search for my wifi. Found it. Selected it and put in my password and that's it. It works! I can change temperatures with my iPhone and iPad and Mac. Check on it, set alarms. It was almost too easy to set up. I didn't configure email on it because I don't want that right now. Anyway, it's all here but the cooker. I've been thinking of names for it. It's fairly short, bright, will kick ass, and looks great. So who did I think of? Do you guys recognize this guy?
