  1. Dinner plans changed when my niece got sick. I remembered since shrimp on sale and was in the mood for something like chicken picatta....I made this and had fabulous results. Probably my best shrimp to date!

  2. The adoption is finalized and I am so excited. My name is Little Ms. Pebbles, with thanks to Jon. J I’m tiny, just 16 inches and weigh less than 200 pounds, but just fire me up and watch what I can do. drum_roll2.wav I received the phone call about my delivery after the truck was in the driveway, good job the driver didn't wait another 10 mins. or I would have been in the shower. The driver asked it he could separate the lump from the grill before going down the ramp. Sounded like an excellent idea to me. Time to unload the KK. Stuck. I made it. Landed, safe and sound. Everything is on the ground. My carpenter and his helped moved the grill from the driveway to the deck in my little red garden cart. They put a sheet of plywood over the steps and pushed the grill with brute force. It is now on the deck ready to unwrap. Next let's get it on the temporary stand. It will be about 3 weeks before a proper stand will be built. The goodies are unwrapped. First smoke. Time for the first cook. Dinner is cooked. Plated. This story all started this summer while I was speaking with Dennis. I wanted to order a 16 inch grill thinking that it would be perfect for small cooks and perfect for the cold winter days that I want to do a quick cook. There was nothing in California that really matched my 22 inch KK so Dennis being Dennis said, "Why don't I build one to match the grill you have?" Well, naturally I said, "Sounds like a perfect idea." After just spending a few hours with this new grill I feel like I have hit the Mother Load of All Mother Loads. I'm over the moon happy with Little Ms. Pebbles, trilled to pieces. Can't wait to try the new KK smoking tool or the spit or a rotisserie on Little Ms. Pebbles May be I'll do breakfast on the Little One tomorrow. Sooooooooooo many things to try.

  3. Can't wait! I had great success cooking w/ my K7 (about the same size) I expect this our new KK is going to be amazing! Did not want to move a 17 year old Richard Johnson K7 140 miles, have moved it 2x before. No problems with it, great cooks, but too iffy given it's age and history. I may offer it a as an incentive to purchasers of our Phoenix home. Besides, I want'd the newest and best technolgy available out there (I told hubby it was our last K to match our last home). Kids didn't get to choose the color but they will argue over who gets it eventually. Took a bit to convince hubby that this was a better way to go. Dancing on air rather unpacking boxes. Now back to unpacking at our retirement home so I can play with the KK. Thank you to all that have shared and been so welcoming. I'm a self described foodie, nothing better than spending a day in the kitchen or outdoors and I will love and contribute to this forum! Almost wish I had put a smaller range in the kitchen, will be cooking outside on KK more, I expect. Sharon KK 22 Hi Top soon to be here

  4. Not too many weeks go by without fire roasted New Mexican green peppers and/or Poblanos via Komodo Kamado & KK CoffeeChar in the fridge. I use them for everything including, oh boy this should draw out some comments :D, in cottage cheese for a mid-meal snack. But lately with fall colors turning on and the World Series just around the corner I've been hearing the raw peppers scream John Fogerty's lyrics "... put me in coach" :). So that's exactly what is shaping up: Peppers and fatty pork butt cubes being roasted-smoked on the KK over CoffeeChar along with a little mesquite for another flavor layer. Soup making to commence in a couple days ... stay tuned.

  7. ckreef is using a infrared drip plate from a gasser as drip plate over his coals. Here are a couple pictures of different ones. They really work well when using the rotisserie

  8. Pics will happen. I am so excited. I expect she will be so much better than anything we have ever had. Please understand, I don't want diamonds but a great Komodo Kamado for our 35th anniversary. My passion is great cooking and sharing w/ friends.

  9. Wow! I remember when mine was that clean. Now it's nice and "seasoned" with pork, chicken, beef and smoke!
