You can read my review of it here: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lumpdatabase/lumpbag93.htm Huge ash production, very low burn time, smell not all that attractive, and the company was shorting their 18 pound boxes by almost 2 pounds. The most expensive charcoal we have ever tested, bar none. Also, I notice one ad says 27 pound box in one place and 24 pound box in another place. I'd be interested to know what the box says, and how much you actually got. It was apparent that aFire was deliberately shorting the weights on their 18 pounds boxes, so I'd be wary of what they say without actually weighing the contents.

I like trivial things. They don't tax my intellect too much, LOL!

Sounds like you may have inadvertantly installed some sort of plugin akin to a Google toolbar or something which is doing that to you.

I contacted them about doing a review. I hope they have a few bags lying around. Otherwise, maybe when they make their next run.

Anthracite coal=best pizza EVER!

I think that maybe Nero Wolfe carried Blue Coal ads? I remember hearing them on other shows besides the Shadow. But yes, remember to check with your blue coal dealer for the new automatic feeding mechanism. No need to go down into the basement in the middle of the night. Etc. -

Obviously, I weigh the samples I use in my burntime tests.....

That's correct. OTB meant outside the box.

I cook with the lid open until it is time to cook the rice, i.e. added the broth and put whatever needs to go on top on top of the rice. I open the lid when it gets close in order to monitor for the soccarat. I often chicken out before the soccarat develops, lol.

That was a fairly plain paella. If you add more things to the paella like peppers, green beans, artichokes, shrimp, chicken, etc. I find that at 14" pan will easily feed 3-4, and of course, you don't need to remove the handles. But I like having lots of paella pans. It makes me feel good,

The goal with any ceramic charcoal cooker is to start your fire, and as the temperature rises, start shutting down the vents as you approach your target. Your goal is not to let the cooker get hotter than your target.

I would check with your insurance company if you want to be sure. But whether it is your homeowner's policy or a personal articles rider, you will have to be able to show a) that you really own one and what you paid for it. So, make sure you either have the receipt or at least have a photo of you standing next to it at your house. The value can come from prices on the web or a receipt. I recently had the watch I received for my 25th anniversary with IBM stolen and of course I didn't have a receipt. I had to provide a photo showing me wearing it. They then did some research on the web to see what the value was, and I had to encourage them NOT to believe the prices they saw on unofficial Tag web sites. They finally paid me the full value. But it is always best to check with your agent.

This likely won't happen again.....

Even with a JPG you could mess a bit with the contrast and make it look a little better. Nifty photo! -
Congratulations! Yesterday I celebrated (?) 35 years at IBM. Hard to imagine that I started at age 4, eh?

I'm so sorry to hear this, but it sounds like you say, he was ready, he was able to prepare, and you all were able to be there with him. He certainly shaped my life a little bit early on. I'm glad to have known his grandson! Doug -
Harry Demidavicius passed away this weekend. I don't have any details other than the fact that he is no longer with us. Harry lurked here, but never posted as far as I can tell. He was a mainstay at the "other" tiled cooker forum, but stopped posting about two years ago. I just thought some of you might like to know. Doug

They were briefly for sale in a local Sam's club last year. I was hoping they would give me one to review, lol! Just quickly looking at the unit it the store, the gasket was worn through every location where they had a rivet on the rim. It didn't look like it would last very long, and it didn't look replaceable. It would have been fun thought to play with one.... -
Welcome Bobh! I have a webpage about Cozy's mills that you might like to reference. It has a nice photo, if I do say so myself, Cozy's Mills
