Just the opposite for me. Full sized Akorn isn't worried as I'll still have to fire it up from time to time for the really big cooks. My Akorn Jr on the other hand is already crying.

I hope she wasn't trying to tell me something .............

My bank was nice enough to save all of Dennis' information just in case I want to send him more money. I laughed at the bank lady and told her no worries, it won't be any time soon. LOL

The problem with SJ - alone it just doesn't convey Super Jr. Well I still have another week or so to decide. It's been setup with the delivery company so not long now.
-
No that won't do. I've looked up all the Dragon names I could find and nothing has struck me yet.
-
Now you all got me trying to come up with a baby dragon name. LOL

I've done direct high heat sear in the past for Pinwheels. I think using this CI skillet worked a little better at keeping them together. There was a string holding each one together. They came out a nice MD rare although hard to tell in the pictures. With bacon I'm not sure it would get properly done with as quick a cook as this was. You could probably pre cook the bacon a little to solve that problem.

Hankvon - Puff is good because we all know it's a magic dragon. Tinyfish - Drago No real name for mine - I'm just going to call it a Super Jr.

Like me, I'm sure you noticed a slight change in that other forum. It started with you and the other KK owners and the post you all do. Then along comes tiny and myself. The winds have shifted a bit which I think is a refreshing change from the fan boi club we had to endure for some time.

A few recent posts got me thinking. Harley owners have a statement "If I have to explain you wouldn't understand." I think that perfectly applies to KK owners - if you have to explain why, they really just don't/won't get it. Some people just understand and no explanation is needed. Other people will never understand no matter what. Some are on the fence. You don't have to explain why, they just have sensible questions that need answering. Yup if I have to explain why they wouldn't understand.

I will probably be the least wealthiest kk owner on the planet. I do know how much use I will get out of it, so it made sense to me. I own Akorns and can cook anything I desire on them but if I'm going to cook almost ever night I would rather have the best tool available. Sort of like my motorcycle. Yup a Honda would have worked but I still bought the best American V-twin chopper I could find/afford. I've been saving my pennies too. Also sold a gun and a grill that was not being used to put towards the kk fund. If somebody doesn't understand the kamado I want then they probably also don't understand the motorcycle I ride. I'll just smile and let them go eat McDonald's.

That's my son. Here son stir this and let me know when it thickens up. LOL

TY - we love Pinwheels and they are surprisingly easy to make. This cook was a few more pictures than I usually post (but only a few more)
-
Sorry dine in only and I think it would be a bit of a drive for you - LOL Here's a silly menu I made for the meal.
-
Last night's dinner. Flank Steak Pinwheels stuffed with spinach, sweet peppers and provolone cheese. A balsamic Brandy reduction sauce. Served with scallop potatoes and rosemary honey carrots. Normally I would do this entire cook on the kamado but last night Mrs skreef did the scallop potatoes and carrots inside. Also I usually do a direct high heat sear for the Pinwheels but last night I used a CI griddle on the kamado. And now for the good part.

Really nice looking ribs. Can't wait to see some pictures from the various BBQ events.

Using my smart phone and tapatalk I didn't really know what you were talking about. ... ... ... ... I just now logged on using my desk top and now I understand. The view of your pictures are way small where mine fills the page. hmmmmmm Are you using third party picture hosting? I upload direct from my device to the forum.

For most pictures I crop them down to what I want to see then resize them to 1024 x ??? For the money shot I do the same but resize to 2048 x ??? - just so I loose no detail if somebody looks at the money shot on a large high end monitor. Also by keeping those standard width dimensions all the pictures space the same left to right when viewed through a forum.

Funny story - I was going to go with sweet potatoes and carrots. Mrs skreef informed me that orange and orange would not look right for a plated picture. She is the one who picked the spiced apple rings. I guess I have the family won over when they are composing the plated picture and we haven't even left the grocery store yet - LOL

Not the best pictures but here goes (I hope you don't mind I post them in your thread) Low-n-slow phase. Sear phase. At a full 2" it really is a monster chop. Sweet Potato and spiced apple rings. Nice simple cook after a long day.
-
Reverse searing a 2" bone in chop with sweet potatoes. On the kamado as I type this - almost ready for the Sear phase. I don't have a SV.
