  1. Sorry guys but this is no joke. There is a global fundraising organisation which started about 10 years ago in Australia called Movember. The idea is that participants shave clean on November 1st and then grow a moustache right through November - or as it has been renames Movember. The funds are dedicated specifically to men's health issues, in particular prostrate cancer and men's depression initiatives. Our company has a team from each office with around 30 participants. It's a bit of a laugh and well supported, it is funny when you are in a high powered business meeting and half the room has lame moustaches! If you are interested in supporting my mo in particular - donations can be made online at http://au.movember.com/mospace/2968913 Or if you would like more information in general check out the Movember website in your country. Cheers Andrew P.S. my bronze KK arrives on Wednesday next week!
  2. Re: Hello from Manhattan Beach, CA Welcome and your steaks look great. Another eat and wine snob here but you can keep the cigars! Drunk any Australian wine? We do some awesome Shiraz...
  3. Re: Set up for Spatchcocked Chicken Why is the probe always from the rear -alien experiment style. It just looks like the final indignity for the chicken... I plan to always approach from the front
  4. Re: Problem Accessing Forum Do a virus scan on the affected computer would be my first guess. What operating system?

Anyone who is in Melbourne might be interested in http://bar-bqfest.com.au/ It's a weekend long celebration of BBQ, smoking, beer etc Might be good to see a KK there! Very close to my place so I will be there for sure Cheers
  7. Re: Grill floss in Oz Thanks. I get it, seems a very simple thing but for $25 bucks I will buy it! Looks like about 3 hrs of me at the hardware store and messing around. At least! Cheers
  8. Re: tampa bay area What's a "waterspout"? Just curious... Glad you got it fixed up ok
  9. Re: Grill floss in Oz CoolShack I have never seen one in the flesh so it is hard to duplicate. I don't mind the $25 but the freight is stupid high, hence need to spread the cost. D you have any pictures that I could see and try and fabricate from? Cheers
  10. Well I have looked hard and cannot find Grill Floss anywhere for sale in Australia. Mighty sick or the crappy grill brushes, I think the KK deserves better! I have a US delivery box and can get delivery from Grill Floss to my USA ail box and the onto main Melbourne. I just received a Maverick ET-732 for $60 which is about half what they are local Is anyone interested in one or more Grill Floss? Price would be what I pay for them, about $25 plus share if USA to Oz freight, plus local Austpost to you. Or pick up from Sandringham VIC or St Kilda Rd Melbourne. Any takers? Cheers Andrew
  11. Re: a lamb cut i have never seen before Best cut of lamb for low n slow is the shoulder. I have one I tbsp en right now with lemon, garlic and herbs. 10hrs at 110c Yum
  12. Re: a lamb cut i have never seen before Believe it or not, lamb breast is a prohibited import into Fiji, due to the very high fat content and the effect that this has in the health of the Fijians. This is what I heard in TV in Fiji a couple of years ago. So annoying the govt bans must be good, right?
  13. Re: Just ordered a KK, new to forum Welcome, I ordered a 23" bronze also and expect mine in a few weeks. Like you I am a 100% novice but learning a lot from reading the forums. Cheers Andrew
  14. Re: a lamb cut i have never seen before I'm slow roasting a pork belly tonight! Mmmmm http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/cuisine ... 1m3t1.html This always works and it can be done in the indoor oven or even on the grill. Should be great on the KK, but for now it will be done indoors. Very highly recommend this recipe. Sorry for the hijack but you did say pork belly and I thought you may be interested...
  15. Re: a lamb cut i have never seen before Gotta love the iPad spell checker! Definitely low and slow not "detonate".
  16. Re: a lamb cut i have never seen before Detonate lay low and slow. They are high in fat content but should come out good. Treat it like shoulder but there will be less meat to bone ratio
  17. Re: Granite work-surface? It is a beautiful thing, only someone who has worked wood can see the quality here. Unfortunately my wife has not...
  18. Re: Granite work-surface? Use granite rather than marble admit is less porous and will take the wether better. Be very careful when handling it there are many four fingered stone masons... When you buy stone they will usually cut and finish the edges for you it is worth it.
  19. Re: Hello from OHIO Yeah I paid $39 here in Australia. If anyone is interested I will check the power specs on the side and ship them over Now if someone can get me a Maverick ET-732 for a good price... They are $115 here! Cheers

  21. Re: Hi from Melbourne Thanks Franz I'll give him a call but I am quiet close to Dingley Village smothered are a couple of options local for me to try there also. Cheers
  22. Re: Pork ButtCook/ Sauce Advice Slightly off topic but Hephaestus can you explain why you took one off at 12.30 and the other at 5.00? Also the one that you took off later did it get the towel and esky treatment? What time did you serve this feast? Thanks plenty
  23. Re: Hi from Melbourne Hi George, I found this info on the Aussie BBQ forum on general info on local Australian charcoal and at the bottom it lists several suppliers in Melbourne. Including the guy in Dingley village. http://sosman.org/bbq/LumpCharcoal Seems most of our charcoal is Mallee root or Mangrove. I have a bag of Malley root I got for a spit roast that I did last Christmas, so I will use that and then try out the Mangrove, just to see. It is certainly a more sustainable crop! Summer is coming Cheers Andrew
  24. Re: Online deal for Coconut briquettes I think it's fantastic that you can describe charcoal cooking as "everyday use"!
  25. Re: Thoughts/pros/cons of adding Tapatalk support? I would welcome Tapatalk support I read all of my other forums like Aussie BBQ in Tapatalk and its is fast and I can use it easily on the iPad or phone Thanks
