Just wonder if there is a place for a thermometer? The Polder tube could be used for a Polder or Guru probes but I have not seen anything about a a hole for a mounted thermometer. No big deal just wondering.

Thanks

Glad you asked!!

Starting June 1st All Deluxe and Supreme models will come standard with a Tel-Tru thermometer, http://www.teltru.com

You and your Komodo deserve the best. Tel-Tru is a World-Class temperature instrument not one of the cheapo made in China thermometers that come with lesser ceramics

Your Komodo will use a 5" long stem thermometer, model LT225R,

You may specify the 150º to 750º  or 200º to 1000º model

But Dennis, that cheapo thermometer is the only thing from my Mexi K that still works!

Thermometer question

Thanks for the quick reply. That is a very good thermometer. I had replaced the one on my old K with one. If I would have know my would have sold as fast as it did I would not have drilled the hole in the replacement and installed the new thermometer. I would like the 150 to 750 on my OTB.

Thanks

Brand of meat thermometer?

Anyone have success/failure with particular brands of meat thermometers? What about the remote type, that allows one to sit inside and read library books while supper cooks? PLEASE don't answer with Guru or Stoker discussion. I mean the lower tech, under $75 kind.

There are instant read, and pen-type, and battery op displays with a probe into the meat. Lots of brands. Suggestions? Horror stories?

Sanny....For unattended cooking you should have one probe for BBQ temp and one for the meat temp. You need to know what your fire is doing as well as the meat. If you are reading a book, I would highly recommend something with audible alarms. I am not real familiar with different brandsand costs. I have a redi check but I have read many complaints on them.

Sanny, yeah I like the low tech too

I've got 3 Nu-Temp thermometers that I've had for years. Work pretty good. Have a pretty good range.

Those are great for all nighters and reading a book while you cook. :o
