DennisLinkletter Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Our newly galvanized CNC cut grill jig will help stop carbon steel contamination of our stainless Quality welding on a 3/8" grill As stainless needle bearings are not available our resident McGyver DJ came up with a great solution. A brass sleeve is pressed into a stainless tube and voila.. SS roller Thanks DJ (again!) Machined roti drive shaft tips hold the springs in place The longest project known to mankind moves ahead..
ThreeDJ16 Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Lookin' good dude! Those are some sweet side tables!!! Nice tweak on the rotis shaft too. -=Jasen=-
tcoliver Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Sidetables look awesome. Can't wait for them to be available.
Professor Salt Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Re: New stuff.. As stainless needle bearings are not available our resident McGyver DJ came up with a great solution. A brass sleeve is pressed into a stainless tube and voila.. SS roller Thanks DJ (again!) Is this a new upgrade for the hinge on the cooking grate? Can't imagine where else it would go. Improvements to the nth degree! That's what we love about KK!
Amphoran Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Is the bearing for the latch? How do we go about getting the improved roti shaft? Cheers, Mike
ThreeDJ16 Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Yup, the new sleeve bearing is a replacement for the needle bearing on the latch (only on the GenII). -=Jasen=-
Farmer John Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Okay I want to order now! I need the roti extension (doing a chicken again today and have to keep on checking the shaft) and the "must have" side tables! Dennis let me know the availability and cost on both. John
Amphoran Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Great, I'll want to pick up one of the bearings, too, because the one on my latch is getting quite rusty, and the Winter rains haven't even started yet!
johnnyboy Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Hey Dennis, Tables look great! Love the curved design. I can't wait to see pics of them mounted. Will they fold down? Folks are going to want kovers for them for sure (already do); please send the circumference measurements when they're available so I can build them to my manikin. Thanks, Johnnyboy, [email protected]
primeats Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Um, yeah, John could you factor this in to my cover or is it too late?
johnnyboy Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Well, I haven't cut yet; but I have laid it out. All depends on how much the tables add, and if the extra inches are there. I order yardage pretty close, not much extra. I suspect it won't work with the yardage I have; however, if you want, we can order more and add a panel in the rear.
Sanny Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 ...however' date=' if you want, we can order more and add a panel in the rear.[/quote']Happens to the best of us. Add a little fabric here or there, so it covers the rear... An artfully crafted ruffle, and no one will notice. After all, it's what ALL the best cookers are wearing this year.
primeats Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Do you know the dimensions yet?if so yes add the panels or whatever you think would look best and function properly. Let me know what the cost is and I'll fire off a check.I guess this means the side tables are on their way to production?
primeats Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Dennis,I'd be willing to buy the new latch assembly for my otb, nothing wrong with mine, I'd just like to see the name on the front so my neighbors can read what I'm cooking on! As well as the side tables of course
Nator Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Nice Work Nice Work Dennis. On the latch...too lazy to go and look...can we easily replace the old setup with the new branded one? I thought it was cast in???
primeats Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Umm., after careful inspection I withdraw my request. Thanks Nator
ThreeDJ16 Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Re: Nice Work Nice Work Dennis. On the latch...too lazy to go and look...can we easily replace the old setup with the new branded one? I thought it was cast in??? I don't believe it is cast in, but actually grouted in. So very doable, but still a PITA. -=Jasen=-
