Phshon
What is this, where does it go, how does it fit. Now let me explain. I know it attaches to the draft door. It doesn't fit so I will have to do some bending, pulling. I want to be sure I'm right. Thanks
bosco
It is a heat deflector shield for the front damper. Goes on the inside of the KK. Its suppose to be tight so wiggle it on don't bend those rods if you don't have to.
ckreef
Yea what @bosco said. Install it so the flat rectangular side is down. The curved edge up and towards the outside. Installs on the lower vent tubes of the KK. If you must tweak it to fit be gentle. Put a long handled screw driver through those tubes and carefully bend to a snug fit. Phshon
That screwdriver is a great idea because I'd have to bend the tubes about 1/2". When you say the curved edge up and to the outside do you mean facing outward, because it looks like the curved edge is ment to face inside toward the center of the K. I know these questions seem stupid but after the other shit K, I don' t want to damage this one-- not that I could, it's built like a tank. tinyfish
Curved edge pointing to the outside of the KK. The curved edge is under the firebox pointing to the outside kk wall.

Poochie
Wow! I remember when mine was that clean. Now it's nice and "seasoned" with pork, chicken, beef and smoke!
