snapper
any suggestions on how to move a kk if you don't have access to a crane or forklift? I remember seeing some pictures with four guys moving one with straps and 2x4s, but can't find the pictures.
Fetzervalve
If you don't untie the blue ropes that are on the legs (I did, I thought they were part of the packaging) you can slip a couple of 2x4s through the loops and a couple of people can carry it that way. I used the Forearm Forklift straps and carried it in a similar fashion.
Curly
I just went out to UHaul and bgt a set of Forearm Forklifts for $25. I have the top off and the firebox out and feel like me and my buddy can get it onto a small cart and get it to the back yard. If I can't borrow the cart, I'm gonna use plywood and roll it around to the back yard. Then we will need to lift it one step at a time up the steps and presto...we're there. Then we just have to put the thangee back to gether and put some lump in there and we're done with the setup. It wasn't that difficult to get it in and out of my truck so I can't see that it will be that difficult to do this last part. I just talked to a friend...and promised him some ribs...and he said he would be over tonight to help me . Those ribs are kinda magical
Fetzervalve
You took the firebox out??!!??! AAHHHH Don't tell choppy I wouldn't worry too much about the cart, you and a buddy can carry it lidless and empty - no problem. Myself (135#, my wife and sister-in-law both smaller than me) carried mine, but I may have been drunk and don't remember..... The 2x4 method would be easiest if you still have the ropes on it, otherwise go with the forklifts.
rorkin
How far do you have to move it ? Over what terrain ? Up steps ?? Is it delivered yet or not.. (could make it easier with tail lift on delivery truck).. Or just put 2 x 4 s through the ropes and go for it If it is too heavy- Top and fire box can come off
Curly
We got it around back easy enough...and then we built a plywood ramp (same plywood we used to roll it on) up the steps and used my friends wench to pull it up. Easy as pie . Well...not really easy as pie. but doable. Manana we cook

Farmer John
The new cover I tried it on before I fired the KK up and it fits like a glove. Pictures in a few days. I suggested that he add about 2 inches to the elastic and a few inches to the Length even though it fits perfect. More in a bit, John
