I bought this last weekend when I was away and tried it on bacon to see if it would prevent the flare ups. Bacon cooked on the KK is awesome it has a lovely added flavour that you don't get in the frying pan.
These ceramic tiles are 1/4 x 2 x 3.5 inches. I bought the small box with 30 tiles.
Breakfast is on.
Almost done-
Plated.
Here are the tiles that were below the bacon to stop the flare ups. I put the tiles on the lower grate and the bacon above them on the upper grate. No burnt fat taste on this bacon.
It is another beautiful morning although cold, the thermometer says 62F but there is a cold north wind. It is so nice to be outside after a winter inside. Sitting in the sun I'm sure the temp. must have been at least 64F. Besides the sun, the leaves on the trees are just coming out and looking fresh and green.
Time for a coffee and a good book.
No, Bruce, I only got the single probe. Like I said, the Block isn't even into production yet, so who knows when they'll start shipping. They haven't updated the schedule on those in months, as they've been totally focused on the probes. Early Backers in the Kickstarter are not happy about that.
I agree but I was to lazy to get the other set of skewers out.... I should say hunt them down I have no clue where the wife stashed them.

BTW.. My baking stones "Heat Transfer Formula" was "inspired by" a post Fibrement made in a baking forum years ago. They were adjusting the density and actually posted the old formula and the new one. I wrote it down and called the plant manager at Harbinson Walker and asked if he could make me food safe material that performed like that. He laughed and said that's what we do.. this is our language. Went back to that forum and the formula had been deleted. LOL
Am I seeing this right - you actually put the grilled pineapple slices (good call on the Pineapple Head, btw) on the burger?? I shouldn't be surprised, this coming from someone who puts beets on theirs - LOL!
