  1. Burgers sound yummy but I'll confess I like mine cooked direct at 500*+ or CI seared. Might have to give your method a try. As for controllers - never had one even with my crappy Akorn which could be a bear to maintain long term steady temp. Compared to that the KK is a walk in the park. It goes 8+ hours unattended during the day so what's the difference between day and night. I leave the house for hours during the day with it cruising Low-n-slow. Doubt I'll ever feel the need for a controller unless the tech junkie inside me just has to have a fix.
  2. Great looking food. Especially the filets.
  3. In the end, you prevailed. Just took a little patience until it became her idea. Awesome.
  4. BTW - really nice coke machine. Looks like you did a fantastic job restoring it. Beer or soda? - LOL
  5. Awesome can't wait to see it in its new home.
  6. Earlier I had called my son and had him take some pork chops out of the freezer. Then an emergency at work came up and I knew I would get home late. At some point in the evening Mrs skreef called me and told me not to worry she would cook dinner. I finally got home at around 8:40 pm. I inquired about dinner and Mrs skreef told me the chops were cooking and would be done shortly. I looked around, oven was off, nothing on the stove. I told her not to worry I would cook them. She said no they're cooking on the KK - whaaaat? She's done the grill numerous times but always with me there guiding her along. Yup she had Stired the old lump, added some new, fired it up with the MAPP torch, added a drip pan, got it heat soaked just north of 400* and sure enough the chops were happily grilling away. Dang it girl!! Dinner was served. Grilled pork chops with homemade Mac and cheese and corn. A pleasant surprise since I was really tired and not in the mood to cook dinner. Yummy. Yes indeed - I know who's cooking dinner more often now. Thank you Mrs skreef, a fantastic job.
  7. Great looking Enchiladas. I ate out Mexican this weekend and it didn't look nearly as good as those.
  8. Great looking pizza. I really like your pizza oven. Makes some fine looking pizzas.
  9. The Reef's got a good laugh out of that one.
  10. Nice bread and pizza. Good use of residual heat.
  11. OK so your idea sounds better but doesn't have the food truck feel my idea has - LOL
  12. Do you have other pieces?
  13. Pulled duck. Looks delicious. You could be the first one to make 5 star street Tacos from that
  14. Nice double bird spin. Looks fantastic.
  15. You definitely scared me away with that comment. Chicken gravy, beef gravy, pork gravy etc ........ That's the way to rock out fries. Of course they have to start out extra crispy so you have a creamy outside with a crunch then smooth potato inside. Dang it I'm making myself hungry.
  16. Nice ribeye sear. I see you now have your side shelves. Glad to see those catch up with the KK. I don't have a basket splitter but I believe there is basically 2 parts. One piece to split the firebox in half and one piece to block the air from going up the unused side. Are you saying you have a third piece? Hopefully somebody who has the basket splitter can chime in.
  17. I'm with Tony b on this one. Gravy is a huge improvement over ketchup any day.
  18. Nice cook. Money shot looks spectacular as we expect from you
  19. Let me know if I can help in the future ...... But my son is still going to have to eat peanut butter and jelly in the near future - LOL Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  20. Stop all these Nacho cooks. I want to do one but my son is not very fond of nachos that look like yours. He might have to eat peanut butter and jelly one night soon. Great cook.

    London Broil

About 4 nights a week. The other 3 we either eat out (1 night) or it was barely good enough for the dog (2 nights) - I don't post those cooks - LOL
