  1. TY hogsfan but I thought yours look delicious too. Wasn't planning on cooking on the KK yesterday but then I got off work early. Yanked the Tenderloin out of the freezer and started crusin the Internet for something different to do. Saw a bunch of recipes for pork Tenderloin Medallions. Never did a Tenderloin that way so off to the races I went.
  2. Great looking brisket. Tanks for the pictures - you're going to fit in nicely around here.
  3. Nice looking cook. Great minds must think alike as I cooked a Tenderloin tonight also.
  4. Just a few pictures from tonight's simple cook. Balsamic Mapple Rosemary Pork Tenderloin Medallions, CI seared at about 450* for just a couple of minutes each side. Baby Yellow Dutch Potatoes, boiled, lightly smashed, seasoned, breaded, then CI seared. Served with a side salad of hearts of Romain (not pictured). This was such a good reduction sauce it's going in the Reef's Bistro Secret Cook Book - not very secret as I've posted most of the contents already - LOL
  5. Why not go for a compromise. Cobalt Blue for the 19" and Bronze for 32". Wife's happy, you're happy - a house of peace and harmony - LOL All the tiles/pebbles look awesome so I'm quite sure you're going to be happy no matter what. It's just a question of keeping the wife happy so there are no complaints about the hole in the wallet.
  6. Welcome to the forum. What size and color KK do you have? Brisket sounds tasty but if possible post some pictures - we like pictures.
  7. Looks really good. Plated picture looks delicious.
  8. We are now over the $100,000 goal so it should start the process towards manufacturing sometime in November. Will keep an eye on this as the weeks progress.
  9. This is my first kickstarter. I know it's a gamble but I do like the product. I feel this is what a wireless thermometer should be like. If I receive absolutely nothing, I'll be bummed and this will end up being my last kickstarter. If I receive the product and it doesn't work as good as expected or has some bugs I'm kewl with that as I like this innovation. Once somebody does it others will follow.
  10. Another thought. This product has already gone through development and testing. They started this kickstarter once they were ready to go into production mode. I'm hopeful they already worked out the major kinks.
  11. I understand what you are saying bosco and I read all the posts on Guru. Not saying I don't believe Addertooth but new innovations are springing up daily. The two people doing this have successfully kickstarted numerous other electronic devices so hopefully they have a grip on the manufacturing end and experience actually getting something to market. I'm still going to let it ride and see what happens.
  12. Very nice looking KK. Can't wait to see some of your cooks.
  13. They were at $70,000 last night. This morning just a few hours later they are at $90,000. Yea they'll get to their goal probably by tomorrow at the latest. By the end they will probably hit some of their advanced goals. Fingers crossed the probes last more than a couple of cooks.
  14. TY - unfortunately I have about 160 Sq feet so I need to find something a little cheaper.
  15. If I was you I would hold off on a controller until you get a chance to use the KK's. I've slept through the night with my Akorn going. My KK is so much more stable I just never see the need. I've left the house for hours with the KK going (on a few different occasions) and never worried about it. Biggest temp difference so far has been a 25* rise and it wasn't really stable when I left.
  16. I'm scared to ask but why was US beef banned?
  17. I wondered the same thing so I did a quick test. Phone playing music that is Bluetooth to a Bose speaker. Put the phone in the KK and closed the lid. Never skipped a beat. With that test a success I too pulled the trigger on the 4 probe meter block version. Figured when I go inside the block will WiFi to my router and will get it to my phone.
  18. You're making it easier and easier. Is it setup where an amount can be paid to you towards the total cost and then a loan for the remaining balance? Also is there a minimum loan amount? I'm thinking about someone wanting to pay 50% up front and then doing a short term loan on the remaining 50%.
  19. At that price I would have to seriously consider turning vegetarian or shoot myself. Not sure which of those 2 options is worse.
  20. Went old school last night and cooked this meal in a 50+ years old SS electric fry pan. My mom got it from my uncle when he passed away. I got it from my mom when she passed away. Still cooks and looks as good as new. Basic McCormick recipe. Chopped onion, apples, wet ingredients, dry ingredients and a pork Tenderloin I cubed up. Sprinkled on 1/3 of the dry ingredients then pan seared the pork. Removed the pork then slightly carmalized the onion. Added the apples then cooked for a few minutes. Deglazed with the wet ingredients, added the rest of the dry ingredients and the seared pork. Cooked for a few more minutes then served with rice and baby carrots. This meal just works really well in an electric fry pan and is a favorite at Reef's Bistro.
  21. Duck looks yummy, sauce sounds yummy.
  22. For a Low-n-slow I put the deflector on the basket, the lower grate on the deflector, then the drip pan (or foil pan usually) on the lower grate. This gives a little air cushion between the deflector and the drip pan. Just seems like the right way to do it.
  23. Another problem with the single bottom drip pan as a skillet is it has really shallow sides. Good as a drip pan and depending on the cook I also use it as a combination heat deflector/drip pan. Yea I abuse my drip pan - LOL - it can never again be used as a nice looking serving tray - that idea died a few cooks into it.
  24. It's all good - hotdogs and chili dogs looks really good to my eyes, makes my mouth water - that's as far as it goes - closest I can get is a brat or Italian sausage. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
