  1. Finally this year (just before July 4th) GA passed a fireworks law that allows for things that go up in the sky. I've put on a reasonable show about 4 times already. At least a couple of my neighbors like it. Not sure about the other ones but, nothing they can do about it as long as I'm done before midnight.
  2. If I was home I would have steared that in a slightly different direction. Of course that would have taken the fun out of it for him. I just can't believe he took the picture to show his friends. He even put it in our picture spot and turned on the food lighting.

    Back to it

Snap out of it bosco and show us the magic we all know you have. When I get in a cooking rut I cook something over the top good. That usually snaps me back in line. Sometimes cooking the same old, same old can get tiring.
  4. What does a 16 year old make himself for lunch when he's home alone? A Dagwood sandwich of course. The layers from top to bottom: Lays original, strawberry jam, blackberry jam. Sun chips, peanut butter. Apples, blackberry jam. Cool ranch doritos, strawberry jam. Peanut Butter, pickles, blackberry jam. Peanut Butter, apples, strawberry jam. Not sure how he ate it, I was scared to ask. But I did have to laugh - I must be wearing off on him - he took a picture and posted it online for his friends to see - LOL
  5. Wow - I want to come to your house - I'll help thin out the collection.
  6. The plated picture may not have been to your liking but that on grill picture says it all. Yummy.
  7. That's right. KK forum members swept the Cook Your Heritage challenge on Kamado Guru. Tinyfish for the win. Me and bosco tied for second place. Mrs skreef and 2 other guru members tied for third. Out of the 6 possible slots, KK forum members took 4 of them. Congratulations everyone. An impressive finish with all the other fine entries to compete with.
  8. WOW - takes your breath away. Stunning for sure. I think you get the peoples choice award for total Bling factor.
  9. Loosen two nuts with the wrench from your spare parts kit. Move the the plate just a smige then tighten the nuts and test. Repeat if you didn't get the adjustment correct the first time. Just need the latch to lock down over the cam with minimal effort. In reality probably less than 1 min to make the adjustment.
  10. Around where I live when people cook whole hogs on a homemade pit they do that. They make a wood burning barrel (55 gallon drum) with a few pieces of rebar going through the middle and a shovel hole in the bottom. As the hot coals drop through the rebar they transfer them (via shovel) to their pit. This is done throughout the entire cook and allows them to regulate the temp in the pit.
  11. Nice. I've seen that recipe before but never tried it.
  12. Great pictures - awesome cooks - Love the different reflections in your metallic - it's like I'm seeing a different KK everytime you post new pictures.
  13. Just glad we can share the full KK experience together - Love you sweetie.
  14. Another week or two and the immediate Bistro improvements will be completed. Installed some electrical switches and sockets tonight. Another piece to the puzzle done. Very soon will gather the money and make the call.
  15. He would have already scared me away but I'm going to need the extra 10 points (all 18 months) just to finish close to you big timers.
  16. I personally would adjust it to get it right. Will take less than 5 minutes and if it loosens to much in the future you can always do another 5 minute adjustment.
  17. Those look really good. Mrs skreef is going to want to see this cook. Is this your baking challenge entry?
  18. The thought has crossed my mind - LOL That's right 19" table top here I come. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  19. One thing nice about the KK's is their easy/auto opening dome and if adjusted properly won't slam down on you even if you let go. If I would have had a different ceramic she would have never touched it. Mrs skreef did say she was a bit worried about somehow ruining the KK. I assured her that there really wasn't anything she could break/ruin unless she just left the vents wide open and walked away. Even then I'm not positive she would permanently damage it. After hearing all the details it sounds like she did learn a good lesson: 0* to 200* takes a little while(0 as in ambient temp), 200* to 400* is pretty fast in comparison. Something new users should realize when bringing a KK up to temp. Just because it took 30 minutes to get to 200* doesn't mean it's going to take another 30 minutes to get to 400*
  20. Another one is coming soon. Just a bit more improvements on the Bistro before placing the order.
  21. Awesome color choice. Great looking cook.
  22. Didn't catch that - TY tony b I moved it to Komodo General forum. Wasn't sure exactly where to put it but Komodo General seems a little more appropriate.
  23. Nice looking steak and fries. I think an air fryer might be on the short list for Xmas.
