  1. Mrs skreef cooked me dinner tonight. Yes I let her play with Prometheus.
  2. Interesting, never made homemade tortillas. I keep making that statement. I need to tighten up - LOL
  3. That looks really good. I'm going to try this sometime for sure. Always look for an interesting take on a pork Tenderloin.
  4. I love English muffins but never made homemade. I especially like English muffins peanut butter and jelly sandwich where the peanut butter gets all melty and gooey in the English muffin. Dang it making myself hungry.
  5. I also want to say that I think it was a very good idea posting that on kamado guru. There are members over there that are contemplating a KK purchase. Posting cooks and occasionally logging on to Kamado Guru will go a long way to getting future customers. People from Primo and KJ regularly post over there so you should too.
  6. My KK Super Jr hence forth named Prometheus. Prometheus a Titan in Greek mythology. Prometheus stole fire from Olympus for the benefit of humanity. Prometheus also tricked Zeus into eternally claiming the inedible parts of cows and bulls for the sacrificial ceremonies of the gods, while conceding the nourishing parts to humans for the eternal benefit of humankind (steaks). TY JayhawkPharmer from Kamado Guru for such an appropriate name.
  7. Prometheus a very appropriate name. Will post a naming thread shortly.

    Nachos

    Awesome nachos.
  9. Basically it got mushy. At 6 hours the tomatoes, okra and pulled pork were all still intact. By the time I took it off those three items had basically fallen apart (best way to describe it). Don't get me wrong it tasted really good but it would have been better at the 6 hour mark. I still have enough leftover pulled pork to try this again maybe on Sunday.
  10. My baked Spaghetti was done in a ceramic pie pan.
  11. I too use all different types of ceramic cookware in my Kamados. I like ceramic as it cleans easily. (never Pyrex as it's a PITA to clean) I have ceramic pie pan, ramekins, casserole dishes, it's all good. Just go buy the cheapie stuff from Walmart if you are worried about ruining a high dollar piece. That's all I use. I think most ceramic is good up to around 500*. I've gone that high before. I've even stuck them in my pizza oven for a 20-30 second blast of Super high heat to melt the cheese on whatever dish I was cooking. Was using RO lump. To end this cook. Mrs skreef cooked some corn bread fritters to go along with the Brunswick Stew. In the end the taste was spot on the money. The texture was all wrong. At 6 hours it was perfect and I should have pulled it then. Unfortunately I didn't. It stayed on for a little over 8 hours which wrecked the texture. Oh well live and learn. I have a few tweaks for my next batch.
  12. I keep tasting it every hour. Yummy. Being a recipe I concocted based on a variety of Internet recipes I was a little worried. Shouldn't have worried as it tastes like a proper Brunswick Stew. Will probably post this in the recipe section.
  13. Thanks everyone. I've done it with meatballs in it also.. That too was really good.
  14. You got that right tony. I Stired up enough crap the other night when I off handedly busted on KJ. (OK so it wasn't exactly off handedly - LOL) My rice cooker has a removable, non stick, bowl. Cleanup couldn't be easier. Never tried pilaf in it. Just use it for plain rice.
  15. Four hours into it. 3 with the lid on and 1 with the lid off. It's coming along. Will leave the lid off for another hour then put it back on to finish off.
  16. A cool rainy day. Perfect use for leftover pulled pork. Everything in the crock pot. You didn't actually think I was using an electric crock pot did you? It's been on since 11:00 am. Still got a little ways to go. This is a new recipe I concocted. So far it's tasting spot on. More pictures to follow.
  17. I have a small cheapie one too. Love it. I think it was less than $10 You could say it is the Akorn Jr of rice cookers - LOL
  18. I hate baked Spaghetti (I use to hate it anyways). Every time I ordered it or had it at somebody's house it was always a dried crappy dish that I swallowed with a smile just to be polite. Some time ago I decided to change all that. A few attempts later and I've got it where I think a proper baked Spaghetti dish should be. Last night's version was one of the best Spaghetti dinner's I've ever made with a silly menu to go along with it.
  19. Great recipe. Never thought of using a rice cooker to make Mac and cheese. Another tasty option we do all the time now - instead of topping with bread crumbs we top with French's Fried Onions Cheddar Flavored. Gives the crunchy top with a hint of onion and the cheddar flavored variety gives a little more cheese flavor to Mac and cheese.
  20. Nice cook, great pictures. Never heard of rice cooker Mac and cheese. Details?
  21. Not really worried about it. I've had failed pizza cooks in the past and I'll probably have some in the future. Oh well - got some Brunswick stew planned for maybe Thursday.

    Grill mat

Great review - sounds like something I could live without.
  23. TY MacKenzie - no worries it will get better. After doing pizza once a week like clockwork for over a year it was just frustrating.
