The simple answer.... yes you do! I see this type of post come up all the time on various forums that I am a member on. Over on the BBQ brethren, if you own less than one cooker you seem to be odd. Some people have duplicates of weber kettles, off set smokers etc etc.... but when it comes to the Kamado, it seems like people are hesitant to accept this fact. Why the stigma? I can only assume because of their cost people tend to balk at the notion of owning multiple cookers. Or perhaps because the kamado is sold as the swiss army knife of BBQ, there is a belief that it is the only cooker that you will ever need. Why would you consider another kamado? The kamado is a great cooker and you can in fact live with just one. They do an amazing job on about anything that you cook on. Dennis improves this singular ownership by providing three levels of grilling. But lets face the facts here for a moment. How often do we actually do multi level cooks? I love the lower grate but use it to stick a pan or foil for a low and slow etc. The upper grate only gets action when I am baking. I use the main grate 95% of the time and its because that is what everyone is use to. Single level grilling. When you buy a gas bbq, you get these massive grilling spaces and people have no problem dropping cash on them. Then when you buy a ceramic, people question the cost, they question the grill size etc. The debate of bigger is better doesn't even factor in the gas BBQ world, yet in the ceramic world its the age old debate on any potential buyers list. What size do I need? For me, there are three main reasons to buy a second kamado and I really believe that everyone should own one. 1. Space When I owned only one kamado, I constantly found myself looking for more space. When we cooked for large parties, I would have to time cooks so that all the food came out at the same time. Large family dinners, one turkey on the Q and I was relying on the stove. Once I got a second cooker, I found that one BBQ was like a warming/baking section and the other was cooking the large cuts of meat. The stove was for gravy and thats about it. Large pool parties I could cook on both and have everything finish at the same time so that I could enjoy my meal with my guests. 2. dual heat cooks The most important reason I went into the multi kamado cooking game. With two kamado cookers, I could impress my guests with the traditional combinations of sausages, chicken, ribs, brisket, burgers etc etc. I could do a 250 cook on one while grilling at 375 or preparing pizza at 550 degrees on another. I was able to showcase my cooking to friends and family and make meals for everyone. I could also cook seafood on one grill without it contaminating the burgers for the kids on another... 3. As I mentioned earlier, the bigger is better camp always suggests the larger grill. I started out with an XL kamado and it was massive. More fuel consumption, took long time to heat up and seemed to be a waste to fire for anything like 2 chicken breasts. Suddenly I find myself looking at what I am cooking for dinner and then selecting the appropriate size for that meal. This allows me to cook quickly and cost effectively. They are show stoppers and true conversation pieces when I have company. I have helped sell the kamado to about anyone who walks in my backyard. I would never do without to Kamado cookers and wanted to tell anyone looking at adding a second unit that it is the best idea!

I initially wanted two 23" grills. I liked the idea of sharing accessories. Having the 23/32 combo has been amazing. I use my 23 75% of the time but fire up both for dual temp cooks or large parties. I will use the 32" as a warming oven for large family dinners, I cook on it over the 23 for larger grilled meals. It's a wonderful work station and it allows me to cook a bunch of different things all at once without worrying about space. My 32 has become my dedicated smoker. It can handle multiple racks of ribs, large cuts of meat without concern of where the end of the meat is. I also like that I can smoke the family turkey and ham all on one grill for the holidays. You won't regret it, I can honestly say that. It is a big grill but not crazy. It's a reasonable size and the extra grilling space is wonderful. I hope that this helps

Simply because it was on the right side of my set up. The motor needs to go on the right side of the grill. So the 32 became my roti Q
-
And even if a bit off it is still in the same colour family. Nobody would know any better unless you told them!
-
the 23/32 combo is something very special. You literally have the very best setup in my humble opinion. That 32 may be big, but it is not ridiculous and it is a great grillers grill. Lots of room to get it done!
-
wow so fast! That is great news
-
That is wonderful. Great news I personally am very excited for you. The accessories seem perfect. I think the rod will do you well and the double bottom drip I have used with the 23 but never the 32... it's really big and heavy. Looks like the perfect setup and can't wait to see it in the yard

Bam !!!! I am very excited for you and my OCD Tahnks you !!

You know I still say that there are a lot worse vices out there that you could be blowing your cash on. For me... this is a hobby for the family. Sure it can get a bit obsessive but the family all gets to enjoy your hobby and passion. I always tell my wife that I could be golfing, drinking, smoking, gambling etc. And that could be eating up the cash. I seem to remember your wife reluctant in the beginning and then loving the KK. Not to mention you sold off the smoker and have decided to part with the KJ. She will be ok with it. I also encourage to get that grill before it disappears. Not one tile job is ever 100% the same and this one looks pretty close if you ask me

Looks good for my OCD

I think with your black drop the black may be too dark personally. I think a lighter colour Tara blue will be awesome in your setting inwould advise against similar colour in the gold family. Stick with olive gold or move o to to an opposing colour. The lighter or darker will just look really awkward in my opinion
-
actually the black is starting to work more too now lol I do like the combo
-
oh yes, but yes very close
-
I really like the black with the combo, but I must say a lighter colour tera blue with the brown is on a entirely different level of luxury and class. Brown and blue just seems to be the new peanut butter and jam. Look at business suits and shoes now. Everyone is wearing the brown shoes with blue suits. Years ago people would have said that you were crazy. I really like this combo and since you are not looking to add a table I think this is the route I would go personally. The black is still a good option though

Well I will say that the colour you have will be the easiest to match and my OCD argues for you to try at least. But with that said... you are not planning on joining them together so this may not bother me as long as they are on different spots on the deck. If they are side by side, I think you really need to stay the same. Dennis can send you better photos of inventory to help you decide (he did that for ckreef) if you insist on opposing colors I think at the very least you need the side tables for both to help link them and you need to stay in the pebble persuasion i think black pebble with your harvest pebble would be nice as well. That is what ceramic chef has so look back at his photos and you can see that contrast. As for the next possible color. I think the harvest pebble blends well into your earthy environment and something that feeds well off of that neutral pallet is the terra blue. I will find a picture from gofroz who has that combo and they really do look amazing together. If you don't care about cosmetically matchingdofferent colours up then I say go for colbolt blue as it it one of my most favourite ones.

we all do... its part of the obsession lol! you my friend have the virus and you have it bad! KK flu is a terrible thing
-
you have eagle eyes @DennisLinkletter
-
Knowing that you are preferring the black pebble...... knowing that the 22" high caps are still available on a discounted rate... knowing that the 22" has black pebble available.... I am not sure why you haven't pulled the trigger yet. This is the perfect opportunity to own all the benefits of the larger grill that you are after, in the tile pattern you prefer, at a price that is fantastic.... Life is short and my friend it is time that you join the ranks of your fellow KK friends!

great shot looks wonderful

Awesome! Welcome and we can't wait to see this unpacking. We like lots of photos
-
I did because I wanted them to match. I came from cooking on multiple Kamado cookerrs and always believe that two kamados are better than one. Multi cook temps being the biggest reason.

Oh man that gives me the creeps
