MacKenzie and I were talking off line about the first game where Team Canada beat the US team. We talked about what a great game it was. We knew the championship match would be a close one and tried to have some fun with the BBQ betting. I know we both wish the game would have ended in regulation or overtime play, instead of coming down to a shoot out. Just our personal preferences. It was interesting to see the different ideas forum members had on the format. Have to say...............I learned a few things. Tried to let her off the hook on the bet......but she would have no part of that. In fact she said she had something "special" in mind. I think I should be scared !!!! Too much fun

The results of the negotiations are final........................I was told by MacKenzie, in no uncertain terms, that the bet was for a "surprise BBQ care package" and what part of "surprise" didn't I understand???? Teach her to mess with a master negotiator like me!!!!!

Gosh, I hope she doesn't go on the lam or visit the Queen...............trying to get cooking lessons as my payment!!! (Will settle for photography lessons).

It was a hard fought battle and could have gone either way. I do feel for Team Canada losing such a close match. Note: MacKenzie and I are in the middle of intense negotiations as to the secret BBQ "recycle empties" bet payment. Hopefully, if and when we come to an agreement, the final plans will be announced.

May the best girls win!!!!!! PS: Signing off for the day....need a nap if I'm going to watch this match.

We are only 100 miles from the Canadian border but I still have to bet on the American ladies for the win this time ! Thought we could have a little fun with this .............. I think they have team Canada's number tomorrow night!!!!!!!!

@MacKenzie Wanna bet? ................I say that the US Woman's hockey team will beat the Canadian Woman's hockey team this time around for the Gold Metal! How about a surprise BBQ cooking care package as the stakes????? I know you have a couple Nova Scotia ladies on the team and you beat us already.........................Think they can do it again or will the US ladies rise to the occasion?????? PS: Spring is right around the corner.........................

Have great childhood memories but we grew up on Kraft Mac & Cheese and Kraft Spaghetti from a box. I think Mom's special dinner was hamburger stroganoff. Dad did cook hamburgers outside on the charcoal grill ......but they all tasted like the lighter fluid he used to get the charcoals going. My sisters and I got really good at making grilled american cheese sandwiches and sending Mom & Dad out to dinner . Different motivation but I believe that is why I enjoy cooking so much today!!!!!!

@5698k In Robert's care package to us was a genuine NOLA king cake. Redhead Sue and I tasted it on Tuesday morning and took the rest of it to work, so it wouldn't get stale (it already traveled a few days to reach NY). The co-workers loved it and the gentleman that found baby Jesus had been in New Orleans for Mardi Gras but had never had king cake. He was smiling from ear to ear Thanks again Robert!!!!!

Robert's NOLA care package showed up today....I'm going to be a Cajun cook when I get done with all the cool stuff he sent!!!! After seeing the "king cake".......I think I will wait until it is gone to start my diet Thanks Robert!!!!

@tony b Went back to Costco on Sunday........bought some wonderful prime beef tenderloins. And they did have a bunch of the pork belly slabs.......my next adventure cook. Sad to say our NY State laws do no not allow them to sell "liquor" just beer and some reduced alcohol wines. Sam's is already out of sight in the rear view mirror.................
